Scene 1: David enters the hotel (stage set with the front desk) and then Scared Guest
walks towards the exit (where david entered) very hastily as if he was running from
something.
Scared Guest: (While walking towards the exit, he is always looking down repeating,
“Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. Don’t look. He didn’t see David and he bumped into
him.)
David: Hey watch where you’re going!
SG: (looks up to david) Don’t look. When you see red, the red sees you. (looks down again
and walks by David repeating “Don’t look”)
D: Don’t look? Don’t look at what? Hey come back here! I’m talking to you! Uhhh
nevermind. (walks towards front desk)
FD: Good evening sir. Welcome to Hotel Dunman. I heard some shouting as you entered. Is
there a commotion?
D: Sorry, some weirdo just bumped into me and didn’t even bother to say sorry. He kept
saying “Don’t look, don’t look”. Do you know what he’s talking about?
FD: I assure you that there is nothing to worry about sir. Anyway sir, are you checking in?
D: Yes please. Mr David Lee.
FD: Oh yes. We’ve been awaiting your arrival. Here’s your room key for room 443. However,
before you head for your room, there’s an important thing to note.
D: Sure, what is it?
FD: The room beside yours. Room 444. That room is to never be opened at any time or in
situation. That room is out of bounds to everyone in the building.
D: Is it okay if I ask why?
FD: It’s nothing important. Just some security measures. I hope you understand and with
this, I hope you have a wonderful stay in Hotel Dunman. Like any hotels, do phone the front
desk if you have any problems.
D: Sure… Thanks. (David leaves the set confused at what the FD said.) (lights out)
Scene 2: (set is set up such that one half of the stage is room 444 and the other is room
443 which only shows the bed. Room 444 only shows the door and the 2 rooms are
separated by the white wall thing) David walks pass Room 444, notices it and pauses for a
while (cue horror music).
D: Room 444 huh? Whats so special about you? (David reaches out for the handle but stop
before he touches it). Nevermind, I couldn’t care less (horror music constantly plays from
now)
David enters his room puts down his stuff.
D: Should I shower? Nahhh (then just falls to bed)
Stage light darkens. After like 5 seconds or so, cue knocking sound. Start softly first. David
just shifts in bed. Then louder. Shift again. Then even louder.
D: What’s that stupid noise?! (David sits up then hears the knock again. He hear the knock
coming from the room beside. Checks watch.) It’s 1 in the morning! Don’t people slee…
Wait. The room beside me is room 444…. (knocking again, very loud. David then goes out
of his room and to the door of room 444.Lights on dim. He knocks on the door hard) Can
you stop knocking?! I don’t care who you are but I’m trying to sleep (Then cue witch
laughter) You think this is funny?! (when laughter stops he goes back to his room) Kids..
(David falls asleep and knocking stops.) Lights out
Scene 3: (2 restaurant tables with 2 chairs each. Bell is already sitted in her white dress.
She just looks at the table with a plain face) David takes his sit at the other table facing
Bell.
D: Waiter! (waiter come out with the notepad thingy)
W: Good morning sir. You’re up very early. What would you like for breakfast Mr….
D: Lee. David lee. Can I have some scrambled eggs with bread? And a hot milo for my drink.
That’s all
W: Sure! It will be ready in 10 minutes. Do relax while you wait.
D: I will. Thank you. (waiter leaves scene. David then starts to look at Anna. After about 5
seconds, David stands up and moves over to Anna’s table and sits.) Hi I’m David.
B: (still looking at table) You shouldn’t be here.
D: Why shouldn’t I? I’m just trying to have a chat
B: My husband will arrive soon so you should take your leave.
D: I’m not gonna leave a woman like you all alone while her man is somewhere doing who
knows what. So what’s your name?
B: (she looks up slowly and says with the same face) My name is Bell.
D: ( David saw Bell’s red eyes and was surprised) Woah, those are some neat contact
lenses. They are so…red.
B: They are’nt (Derick cuts her off and is very angry because bell is talking to david)
Dr: (Derick holds his finger up to david) HEY WHO ARE YOU? AND WHY ARE YOU TALKING
TO MY WIFE? (Derick switches his attention to Bell before david can answer) AND YOU!
YOU DIRTY WHORE! I WENT TO THE TOILET FOR 2 MINUTES AND YOU ALREADY STARTED
FLIRTING WITH ANOTHER MAN (derick slaps bell until she falls off her chair)
D: Hey stop that! We didn’t do anything. We only talked!
Dr: YOU SHUT Up! DID I SAY YOU CAN TALK? GO FIND YOUR OWN WHORE! ( derick pulls
bell up roughly and tries to pull her out of the set)
B: Help! Help me please!
David tries to go help but the bigger sized derick just pushes him down hard.
D: Someone! Help her! ( derick leaves the set with bell screaming)
Waiter enters the scene hastily and picks david up.
W: Are you alright Mr Lee? What happened?
D: Don’t care about me. Go help her!
W: Who?
D: Bell!
W: Who’s bell? I’m sorry sir I don’t know any bell (Cue horror music)
D: That woman! She was sitting on this table!
W: No one was sitting there Mr lee. Are you alright?
D: She was right there! She was sitting here before I even came! You should have seen her
when you took my order!
W: Mr Lee. You were the first person this morning. It’s 5 a.m. No one else came before you.
D: I know what I saw! She was RIGHT there.
W: And I am sure too that no one else was in there with you. I would serve her too if she
was there too but I didn’t did I?
D: You know what? Just leave me alone. I can walk. ( David leaves the set in Bell’s direction)
Lights out.
Scene 4: Horror music continues. Set is like the previous room sets. David walks back to
his room angrily passing by room 44 again. Once he’s inside, he sits on his bed.
Throughout the walking and sitting, David talks to himself.
D: I saw her! Bell. And that big guy! Surely the waiter could hear his voice. What’s
happening?! Was I hallucinating? No it can’t be! I swear I saw her! UHHHHH!(David slams
the bed) Why am I getting so hung over this anyway? I should probably get ready for work.
This is just wasting my time.
Lights out for a moment as david exits set and goes back to the side with his briefcase.
Lights back on as david comes back from work.
D: Shower. Eat. Sleep. Hais….
Lights out again and david is in bed. Screaming is heard from room 444 and David is
startled.
D: What the hell is going on?! (Rushes out of bed to the next room)
Screams and cries of help get louder and more desperate
D: (Tries to open the door and fails) HEY WHAT’S GOING ON! BELL! IS THAT YOU?! (Hits and
body slams the door repeatedly). ARGH! I CANT GET IN! EH YOU BASTARD LET HER GO!
Screams stop and the stage is silent. David is shaking in fear as he bends down slowly to
peek through the keyhole. Stage lights turn red and david.
D: It’s…..just red. (Dazed and zombie-like, walks to the reception)
Scene 5:
David feels weak and falls to the floor
FD: Sir, what’s wrong!
D: Someone in room 444 needs help. (still zombie –like and looking down)
FD: There’s no one there! Years ago, a lady was murdered by her husband in that very room.
Ever since then, no one is allowed to enter that room because rumors say that her spirit
haunts that room
D: Her name is Bell…
FD: Wait! How do you know that? No one else knew who she was, but we do know 2 things.
One, she wore a white dress when she died. And second, her eyes… were red. (David looks
up)…. Your eyes… they’re red too!
Stage lights turn red and D looks up slowly (at the same time the door 444 creaks open
and ghost is kneeling at the keyhole and says the line with david): Why didn’t anyone help
me?
Lights go black.
Scene 6:
Set is same as the beginning scene. David walking from front desk side to the other stage
side. At the same time, New Hotel Guest walks from that other side. David is still in
zombie mode and walks right into the guest
NHG: Hey watch it dude! Cant you see where you’re walking?!
David just looks up and says like how the very first scared guest said it
D:Don’t look.
NHG: What do you mean don’t look?! You just walked into me because you didn’t look!
Stage light turns red
D: When you see the red, the red sees you.
