Kinder Classrooms Outline of each ‘Early Birds’ Session and what your child will need to bring: At the start of each ‘Early Birds’ session our buddies will be waiting to meet you and your child outside the front office. From here the buddies will take you to where you need to be. A sign-on sheet will be placed outside the kindergarten classrooms, please make sure you sign on at each ‘Early Birds’ session. This is also where you will collect your child’s name badges. For the Orientation Session we will be having a ‘Welcome BBQ’ so children do not need to bring any snacks or drinks On each of the following ‘Early Birds’ sessions, children will have the opportunity to eat recess with their buddies in our infants playground. Please have your child bring along a small lunch box with a snack to eat and a drink bottle (NOTE: We are a nutfree school) During the final two sessions parents are invited to attend workshops led by our kindergarten teachers. These workshops will provide you with information on how we teach reading, writing and mathematics in kindergarten and how you can help prepare your child for ‘big school’. We will also be providing activity packs containing great readiness resources for you and your child to use at home. If you are unable to attend one of these sessions please let the kindergarten staff know and we will organise postage of your readiness packs. At the end of each session we will collect all the children’s badges to ensure they are available again for following sessions We look forward to getting to know you and your children throughout our transition program and we will endeavour to make this transition as smooth and exciting as possible.
