Evacuation
By Tim “Sledge Hammer” Sellers, Anthony “Jumper” Cameron and Paris “The Pazz” McCathrion.
The Anzacs were losing the battle in Gallipoli to the Turkish army. After losing eight thousand, one
hundred and forty one people the leaders of the Anzacs decided it would be wise to withdraw from
Anzac cove (Gallipoli). They had to be very careful with leaving because if the Turks would attack and
kill the Anzacs, It took the forty thousand Anzacs three weeks to evacuate the inhabited beaches of
Gallipoli. The evacuation happened between September and December, and by the 20th of
December no Anzacs were left, they all got away (apart from the Anzacs that died.) “Gallipoli was a
bastard of a place”. This what the Anzacs thought of Gallipoli, after they had finally got out of
Gallipoli.
