6 Apr 15, 1104 hours. Financial Exploitation of the Elderly/ suspicious circumstances. 4436 N Newland. Complainant stated that an elderly resident may
be exploited having his trust, bank accounts and power of attorney changed by an known subject who befriended the victim. It was discovered that
$50,000.00 was taken from one of the bank accounts. HHPD Detective Division investigating.
8 Apr 15, 1643 hours. Deceptive Practices. 4608 N Harlem. (Old Chicago Tobacco). Victim (store owner) stated a customer id as a Ohrpy, Fose M/W 51
YOA, 3434 N Greenview Ave, Chicago purchased $3,000.00 worth of merchandise with a check and it showed insufficient funds. The victim received
payment of $1,000.00 from Mr. Ohrpy and a agreement to pay weekly was made between them. Victim has not received a payment since Jan 15. HHPD
Detective Division investigating.
9 Apr 15, 1100 hours. Identity Theft. 7440 W Carmen. Victim stated his Citi bank business Master card was compromised being charges for Orbitz
$2,245.00 and Delta Airlines $444.10 were made by unk off(s). HHPD Detective Division Investigating.
13 Apr 15, 1026 hours. Deceptive practices. 7517 W Ainsle St. Victim stated her Visa Debit card was compromised and was used in Florida by unk off(s)
with $360.35 being charged by unk off (s). Card was cancelled by victim.
24 Apr 15, 1449 hours. Identity Theft. 4541 N Newcastle. Victim stated that unk off(s) had used her SS # and tax id # to file her federal income tax
return. A fraud alert was placed on the victims accounts.
27 Apr 15, 1200 hours. Deceptive Practices. 4660 N Harlem. By Line bank. Complainant stated that $13,000.00 was removed without permission from
the Norridge Youth Football bank account. HHPD Detective Division investigating.
Burglary / Thefts / Criminal Damage to Property
5 Apr 15, 1000-2352 hours. Residential Burglary/ No forced entry. 4540 N Narragansett. Victim stated that unk off(s) had entered his unlocked rear door and
ransacked his home removing jewelry. HHPD Detective Division investigating.
7-8 Apr 15, 1700-0800 hours. Theft from Motor Vehicle. 4936 N Harlem Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken her gold 2000 Chevy Malibu catalytic
converter.
9 Apr 15, 1900-2100 hours. Criminal Damage to Property. 4952 N Odell Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had thrown eggs at the front of her residence
damaging a screen window.
14 Apr 15, 1816 hours. Retail Theft. 7401 W Lawrence Ave. (Mariano’s). Store Loss prevention stated he had store surveillance video that on 23 Mar 15
showed a M/W subject and a F/B subject take $275.55 and $206.99 worth of liquor and exited the store then left the area in a silver 4 door Hyundai IL plate #
6251779. Mariano’s stated they wish to pursue this incident. HHPD Detective Division investigating the incident.
15 Apr 15, 1630-1645 hours. Burglary from Motor Vehicle. 7401 W Lawrence. (Mariano’s Parking Lot). Victim reported her purse taken from her parked
white 2003 Cadillac Escalade/no force. Taken by unk off(s) was $625.00 in gift cards, ink cartridges, cheek book and stamps.
13 Apr 15, 1736 hours. Theft. 6635 Norwood Ct. Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken 70 solar lights worth $99.00 from her property on 17 Mar 15, 15191521 hours.
18 Apr 15, 2056-2102 hours. Retail Theft. 4747 N Harlem. Riches Foods. Victim stated that he observed a older M/W subject take food worth $76.40 without
paying that he had stopped in the parking lot. HHPD officers arrived and placed into custody a Wdowiak, Tadeusz M/W 66 YOA, 6745 W Irving Park Rd,
Chicago who was charged with Retail Theft on a signed Misdemeanor complaint.
19-20 Apr 15, 2230-0430 hours. Theft of Motor Vehicle. 4712 N Oconto.Victim stated that unk off(s) had taken his Silver 2005 Suzuki GSX1300 motorcycle.
24-25 Apr 15, 2000-0735 hours. Burglary to Motor Vehicle. 4311 N Newcastle Ave. Victim stated that unk off(s) had broken out his black 2011 Honda CR-V
passenger window taking a radar detector and a cell phone charger.
26 Apr 15, 2010 hours. Theft. 4400 block Nashville Ave. HHPD officer observed that unk off(s) had removed the resident parking signs from the sign posts.
Public Works department notified to replace the signs.
Crimes against Persons
3 Apr 15, 2332 hours. Possession of Cannabis. 6908 W Gunnison St. HHPD officers were checking a suspicious vehicle call and smelled
burnt cannabis coming from within the vehicle and also observed contraband within the vehicle. Arrested on Misdemeanor complaints
for Possession of Cannabis and Drug Paraphernalia was a Maza-Lopez, Manuel E M/H 18 YOA, 9351 Bay Colony, Desplaines.
4 Apr 15, 2133 hours. Assault. 4707 N Harlem (Parking Lot). HHPD patrol officer was waived down by the victim who stated he was
arguing with a M/W subject who threatened him with brass knuckles. Both subjects interviewed and victim signed a refusal to prosecute
form. Brass knuckles were confiscated and inventoried.
9 Apr 15, 2355 hours. Possession of Drug paraphernalia. Montrose and Narragansett. HHPD officer radar timed a vehicle at 66 mph in a
30 mph zone. After stopping vehicle observed open alcohol and drug paraphernalia within vehicle. Placed into custody for speeding 35
mph over, possession open alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia was a Lame, Mishel M/W 18 YOA, 6461 W Warner Ave,
Chicago.
12 Apr 15, 0540 hours. Domestic Battery. 4344 N Newcastle. Victim stated she had a physical altercation with her husband and that he
had left the house on foot. Husband was located by HHPD officers. Arrested for Domestic Battery on a signed Misdemeanor complaint
was a Saljaj, Kamber M/W 41 YOA, 4344 N Newcastle, Harwood Heights.
13 Apr 15, 1623 hours. Disorderly Conduct. 4501 N Newcastle. Victim stated that while using the basement common laundry area a
tenant had let his pitt bull dog out into the hallway. Victim yelled at the tenant stating she was afraid of the dog and to take it away when
the tenant told her that maybe he should let the dog attack you. HHPD issued the dog owner ID as a Dziechciarz, Luckasz M/W 33 YOA
four local ordinance tickets. Victim does not wish to prosecute at this time and that she was going to notify the buildings landlord of this
incident.
15 Apr 15, 1857 hours. Domestic Battery. 6520 W Gunnison St. Victim came into station to report that he was battered by his wife on 8
Apr 15 and struck numerous times in the face. Victim wishes to pursue incident. HHPD Detective Division investigating.
19 Apr 15, 2120 hours. DUI Crash/Possession of Cannabis. 4750 N Harlem. HHPD officers came upon a crash. Further investigation
determined the driver was DUI. Contrabamd recovered within vehicle. A Chavez-Nunez, Gerado M/H 33 YOA, 5919 W Diversey Ave,
Chicago was charged with DUI, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphenalia.
21 Apr 15, 1305 hours. Possession of Cannabis. 4648 N Sayre. Possession of Cannabis. HHPD officer observed a M/W subject involved in a
possible drug transaction on the street. Subject stopped and recovered from jacket was 3.6 grams of Cannabis. A Zec, Vuk M/W 19 YOA,
4925 N Clifton, Norridge was charged under a local ordinance for Possession of Cannabis.
Seniors
Home repair scams/ Ruse burglaries. Reminder: Do not allow anyone into your residence that you do not know and didn’t call for service.
Scam artists knock on your door offering to repair something in or around your home for a very low price. They ask you to pay upfront and you
will never see them again or if you allow them inside your residence, they will distract you and steal your valuables.
All Village Employees/PublicWworks have IDs on them at all times. Ask for ID and call 911 for verification.
