Regular Meeting, Board of Education
Minutes
August 26, 2015
The Rockbridge Montessori School Board met in regular session on Wednesday, August 26,
2015, in the board room of Harmony Grove School. Superintendent of School, Trey Stevens,
called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Also present were Trey Stevens and Shannon Nuckols.
1. Minutes were presented and accepted without opposition for the July 30, 2015 meeting.
2. Financial update was presented by Trey Stevens. Complete consulting will go through all
purchase orders and deposits next Friday.
3. Motion made by Casson Brock and seconded by Sarah Gober for the appointment of new
board member, Stephanie Newton. Motion carried without opposition.
4. Report of Enrollment given by Mr. Stevens. Students being placed in ESchool. Currently 124
regularly attending. Original goal was 120 minimum.
5. Motion was made by Casson Brock and seconded by Eric Brock for the hire of Stephanie
Stevens as a classroom assistant for $20,000 annually and a separate contract for $75 per week as
before school instructor. Without opposition, motion carried.
6. Motion made by Eric Brock and seconded by Casson Brock to accept the resignation of
Rebecca Stevens as a classroom assistant. Motion carried.
7. Motion made by Sarah Gober to move Miranda Johnson from classroom assistant to Child
Nutrition Director and a separate contract for after school assistant in the amount of $150 per
week. Motion carried.
8. Discussion was entertained concerning the hire of an additional person to help in the
kitchen/cafeteria. Applications will be accepted and hiring will be rediscussed.
9. Trey Stevens delivered the superintendent’s report. AT&T will be coming soon to install the
necessary poles for internet, the plumbing has been repaired, and the church is being consulted
about the removal of a tree on the property to install a playground.
10. Motion made by Casson Brock and seconded by Eric Brock to pay the existing bills. Motion
carried without opposition.
11. With all business concluded and no further discussion motion was made by Sarah Gober to
adjourn at 7:05 p.m. and seconded by Eric Brock. Motion carried.
