Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4yrs old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 yrs or over on 1st January. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle,
pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. Horses must have qualified for this final by finishing in the top three at any of the
qualifiers prior to the Championship. All entries MUST be registered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book and MUST also be
registered with the ROR. The class is open to thoroughbreds that have RACED. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses will NOT be
ridden by the judge; each horse to complete an individual show or no longer than 1 ½ minutes to include the following movements: walk, trot,
canter showing change of leg, extended canter, halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Horses will be stripped for conformation. All those entering
horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force.
Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap
For the Championship, The Jockey Club will provide prize monies of £500. The Championship’s overall winner will receive £250 together with a
sash and branded Thermatex rug and will qualify for Supreme Horse Championship (Class 505) & the £1000 Aintree Retrained Racehorse
Championship (Class 311) on Sunday 27th July.
The Reserve Novice Champion will receive £100 and further prize money will be awarded down to 6 th place.

Class 502 - SENIOR COSTUME CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE CLASSES
Judge - Mrs J Senior
The Judge will be looking for a picture of elegance and dress depicting an era of bygone times side saddle.
Side Saddle Costume Concours d’Élégance Rules:For riders aged 18 yrs and above. The sole criterion of this Class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of
going of the horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not
permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask small groups of riders to give
short displays. A Special rosette to the highest placed Adult Members of the S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points
Cards. Competitors should do a brief résumé about their costume for the Commentator. Adult riders not wearing hats to the current safety
standards do so at their own risk . The winner will qualify for the Supreme Horse Championship (Class 505)

Entry Fee: £16 Prize Money: 1st - £10 if more than 5 catalogued entries, 2nd - £5 if more than 10 catalogued entries. Rosettes to sixth place
Hunter Breeding Classes are open to the produce of any Stallion and should not be confined to animals sired by Thoroughbreds. Foals up to three months old may
be entered, but must subsequently be registered. Foals unnamed will be recorded under their dam. Two and three-year-old Brood Mares are not allowed to enter in
Youngstock Classes. Manners will be taken into account in Hunter Breeding Classes. a) Broodmares to be eligible for Hunter Brood Mare Classes mares must have
foal at foot or a relevant certificate of pregnancy for the following year which may be inspected at the show. Mares which have not yet foaled or that have lost their
foals are eligible to enter with a relevant certificate of pregnancy that may be inspected at the show. b) Foals To be eligible to enter Hunter Foal Classes the foal must
be at least three weeks old on the day of the show.
The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed in Classes 1 – 6

HUNTER BROOD MARE - HUNTER BROOD MARE PREMIUM AWARD:
Sport Horse of Great Britain offers one Premium in Class 1; the premium will take the form of a Service Voucher to be used for the
service of the Mare by any SHB (GB) Graded or Life Approved Premium Stallion in 2015 or 2016. The premium will be awarded at the
judge’s discretion to his selection from the prize winners. The winning Mare must already be registered with the SHB (GB) and the
owner must be or become a fully paid up member. Only one award per year may be accepted. The Premium will only be awarded if a
minimum of three Mares are forward.

SPORT HORSE OF GREAT BRITAIN REQUIRE ALL EXHIBITS IN THE HUNTER CLASSES TO BE REGISTERED Current registration numbers must be
quoted on Entry Forms and Classes 7 – 14 need to be on the 2014 show hunter registration. Please ring the SHGB office 01732 8660277 for details
Anyone on a horse at an Affiliated Sports Horse (GB) Show must wear a dark coloured riding hat according to the current approved BSI or
European Standard at all times. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure that grooms entering the Show Ring are smartly and
professionally turned out. Grooms must wear a hat when in the ring; if not they will be asked to leave the ring.
“THE NATIONAL HUNTER SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW” (“NHSCS”) QUALIFYING CLASSES
All Hunter Classes will be judged under the Society’s Rules. Classes 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14 are qualifying events for this year’s NHSCS and only horses registered on
the current year Show Hunter Register are eligible to enter. Registration numbers must be quoted on entry forms and owners and
riders must be members of the Society. The five highest placed horses in each class will qualify to enter at the NHSCS. No horse lower than fifth in its class will
qualify
ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW (“RIHS”) - Class 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14
The Society designates certain Shows as qualifying shows for the RIHS at which horses may qualify for the RIHS in the current year or at specific Shows for the
following year. At these Shows the two highest placed horses in the Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Small and Ladies (side saddle) Classes will qualify to
enter at the RIHS. No horse lower than second will qualify. All regulations applicable to HOYS qualifiers will apply also to RIHS qualifiers. In the Working Hunter Class
the three highest placed horses will qualify unless they have already done so. No horse lower than third will qualify. If there is a Working Hunter Championship made
up of the first and second prize winners from the light and heavyweight working hunter Classes respectively, these four horses will qualify for RIHS unless they have
already done so. The first three highest placed horses in the Amateur Ridden Classes will qualify. No horse placed lower than third will qualify.
This section is a qualifier forS21P(UK) WHITTAKERS LORD OPEN HUNTER SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP & Classes 12, 13 & 14 is a qualifier for S17
P(UK) AMATEUR RIDERS RIDDEN HORSE/HUNTER/COB/HACK SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP
The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed in Classes 7 - 16. Classes 7 - 14 are qualifiers for the
Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge (see page 42)

NOVICE HUNTERS Mare or Gelding 4 yrs old and over, not having won a First Prize of £60 or a total of £200 (or
equivalent values) in prize money in any SHB(GB) affiliated Hunter Classes at home or abroad, before 1 st January in the
current year, excepting all prize money awarded as a four year old. Any horse that qualifies for H.O.Y.S. in a Ridden
Hunter Class (not including Working Hunter Classes) will not be eligible to compete in Novice Classes from 1 st January
the following year but horses that qualified for HOYS as a 4 year old are exempt.
LIGHTWEIGHT HUNTERS - (RIHS (2015)/NHSCS (2014 QUALIFIER) Mare or Gelding 4 yrs old and over, capable of
carrying up to 79.5kgs, [12 stone 7lbs].
MIDDLEWEIGHT HUNTERS - (RIHS (2015)/NHSCS (2014 QUALIFIER) Mare or Gelding 4 yrs old and over capable of
carrying 79.5kgs, [12 stone 7lbs] and not exc 89kgs [14 stone].
HEAVYWEIGHT HUNTERS. - (RIHS (2015)/NHSCS (2014 QUALIFIER) Mare or Gelding 4 yrs old and over capable of
carrying over 89kgs, [14 stone].
SMALL HUNTER - (RIHS (2015)/NHSCS (2014 QUALIFIER) Mare or Gelding 4 yrs old and over exc 148cms but not exc 158
cms. Animals cannot compete in a small Hunter and a weight Class. This Class is a qualifier for S19P(UK)WHITTAKERS
LORD SMALL HUNTER SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP

ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW (“RIHS”) - Class 46
The Society designates certain Shows as qualifying shows for the RIHS at which horses may qualify for the RIHS in the current year or at specific Shows for the
following year. At these Shows the two highest placed horses in the Lightweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Small and Ladies (side saddle) Classes will qualify to
enter at the RIHS. No horse lower than second will qualify. All regulations applicable to HOYS qualifiers will apply also to RIHS qualifiers. In the Working Hunter Class
the three highest placed horses will qualify unless they have already done so. No horse lower than third will qualify. If there is a Working Hunter Championship made
up of the first and second prize winners from the light and heavyweight working hunter Classes respectively, these four horses will qualify for RIHS unless they have
already done so. The first three highest placed horses in the Amateur Ridden Classes will qualify. No horse placed lower than third will qualify.
The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed in Classes 44-49.

exceed 3ft 3ins (1m).This Class is a qualifier for the Ruth Lears Novice Working Hunter Championship, to be held at
the BSPS Arena UK Championship Show on 20th - 23rd August 2014. Working Hunters may compete ‘Hors Concours’
in Restricted Open Working Hunter Classes in the jumping phase only at the discretion of the Show Secretary but the
horse cannot compete in any other Working Hunter Classes for the duration of the show. To be run under 2014 rules.

THE ROR/TBA (THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS ASSOCIATION) RETRAINED RACEHORSE CHALLENGE
Judge: Mrs Joanne McInnes
Mare or gelding 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15 yrs old or over on the 1 st January. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and
should be plaited. The first 3 qualify for the final at Royal Windsor Show 2014. All entries must be registered with Weatherbys in the General Stud
Book and with RoR. This Class is open to thoroughbreds that HAVE raced only. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 yrs or over.
Horses will NOT be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or
participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force’ The Class to be judged
50% jumping 15% Style while jumping and performance. 15% awarded for individual show and 20% conformation and suitability to be retrained.
PHASE 1 - Jumping to be judged: 6 rustic jumps ( 2’ 9”) with 2 optional bonus fences (3’3”) The following points to be deducted at the end of each
jumping round: 4 points to be deducted for a knock down. 4 points to be deducted for a refusal. 3 refusals at any fence elimination. 50 marks
maximum (5 each fence for 6 fences and 10 for each bonus fence if bonus fence jumped clear). 15 extra marks style and performance while jumping.
PHASE 2 - Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some Classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be
asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a large number in the Class). Each horse to complete an
individual show of no longer than 1 ½ minutes. Show to include the following movements: walk, trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter
(gallop) halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 15 (to include performance, amount of retraining, suitability to diversify) Each horse
to be presented in front of the judge, ridden and prior to phase 2 for conformation and suitability to be retrained. Total marks 20. Racing injuries will

regularly or have hunted in the past. The Class will be judged on horses manners, horse and rider jumping
performance and turnout. Conformation and scars/injuries will be overlooked. The Judge is looking for a horse
they would most like to have a days hunting on. 1st and 2nd Prize Winners will receive vouchers for a days hunting
with the Holcombe Hunt.

THE AINTREE £1000 OVERALL RETRAINED RACEHORSE CHAMPIONSHIP During the SUNDAY INDOOR EVENING
PERFORMANCE- For the 1st Prize Winners from Classes 48, 56 – 75. £1000 Championship. Champion will receive £750 in prize
money and a rug kindly sponsored by Horse Monkey. Reserve Champion to receive £200, Second Reserve will receive

rosette will be offered to the Adult Member.
THE SIDE SADDLE ASSOCIATION EQUITATION JUNIOR QUALIFYING CLASS - Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current
Member’s Handbook. Open to Junior Members and Non-Members aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. Members carrying their
current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3rd place and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a
rosette to the highest placed member under 12 on 1st January of the current year. Manor Grange Stud Show Centre offer a rosette to the
Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out.
THE SIDE SADDLE ASSOCIATION CLASSICAL LADIES QUALIFYING CLASS - Open to S.S.A. Adult Members and Non-members,
aged 18 and over on January 1st of the current year, riding side saddle, on horses exc 148cms (14.2hh). To be judged 25% conformation and
action, 25% manners & way of going, 25% rider, and 25% turnout of horse & rider, by a SHBGB, BSHA, BSPS, P(UK) or SSA Panel Judge. Judges
may request a short show, but will not ride exhibits; horses will not be stripped. Traditional habits must be worn. Fancy Dress and Period
Costumes NOT permitted. NB Silk hats are permitted to be worn in this class AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Judges are requested to use the
mark sheet provided. The highest placed horse/rider combination qualifies for the Final to be held at this year’s National Side Saddle Show.
In the event of previous qualification, this may be passed down to fourth place. Special rosettes are offered by Mrs C Marchbank & Dr K
Milbourne to the winner and if the winner has already qualified, a second rosette is awarded with the Qualification Card. The Horse/Rider
combination who qualifies, receives a Qualifying Card, which must be presented with your Entry at the Show Office. There will be no late
entry surcharge. SSA Non-Members qualifying for the Final must become full Members to compete in the Final at this year’s National Show.
To mark the Side Saddle Association's 40th Anniversary a Celebration Rosette will be awarded to the winner of each Classical Ladies qualifier
class held in 2014, sponsored by Dr K Milbourne. The highest placed Small Riding Horse (exc 148cm but not exc 158cm), Large Riding Horse
(exc 158cm), Hack (exc 148cm but not exc 160cm) or Cob (exc 148cm), Mare or Gelding, 4 yrs and over, ridden by a S.S.A. Adult Member
qualifies for The 2014 BSHA Championship Show iPura Side Saddle Championship and if already qualified the ticket will go to the next highest
placed horse down to 5th place. The qualification period is 1st January, 2014 to 13th September, 2014. SSA Members who qualify for The
iPura Championship, will not be required to join the BSHA in order to compete in any Side Saddle class at the BSHA National Championship
Show. If the BSHA Championship Show entries have closed at the time of qualification, competitors will not be charged a late entry fee for
the iPura Championship.

THE AINTREE TRADITIONAL SIDE SADDLE ADULT EQUITATION & QUALIFIER FOR THE AINTREE “MASTER CLASS OF
THE MASTERS 2014- RIDER OF THE YEAR”
Phase one – Equitation
Riders will enter the ring together and will be asked to walk, trot and canter on both reins followed by a short free style individual show. The
Judge will take into account the rider’s: effectiveness, balance, straightness, suppleness and poise.
Phase two - Tack & Turnout
To be judged on: correct fit of tack, rider’s attire and turnout of the horse or pony.
Phase three – Equitation Jumping
Riders may choose the height of fences: 1’ (30cms) 2’ (61cms) 2’3” (70cms) 2’6” (76cms) 2’9” (84cms) - (preferred height MUST be stated on
entry form) The Judge will take into account the rider’s: effectiveness, accuracy, rhythm and energy, position, security, balance and
straightness throughout the course. (Fence heights will not be taken into account) A mark out of 10 will be awarded for each fence and
overall impression. Penalty marks will be deducted as follows: knock down-2pts, 1st refusal-4pts, 2nd refusal-8 pts.
3rd refusal- elimination, crossing own track- 4pts, fall of horse or rider- elimination.
The Ride-Off: To take place in the main ring during the Saturday Evening Performance (see page 4 for details - Class 510)
The top 4 riders with the lowest aggregate of place points from phases one, two and three will go forward to a Ride-Off for the title of: “The
Aintree “Master Class of the Masters 2014 - Rider of the year” Riders will enter the ring together, they will have 5 minutes to perform a free
style show which must include the following compulsory movements: walk, trot, canter, medium trot, medium canter and leg yield on both
reins. The judges will take into account the rider’s effectiveness and influence over their horse whilst maintaining balance, elegance and
poise. Horsemanship skills and overall impression. The Winner will receive a prize kindly donated by Phyllie Robertson of Side Saddles, The
One Stop Side Saddle Shop who will also be in attendance at the show and a ‘Top Hat Perpetual Trophy’ kindly donated by
Cath Marchbank.
SIDE SADDLE COSTUME CONCOURS D’ÉLÉGANCE - DURING THE EVENING PERFORMANCE picture of elegance and dress
depicting an era of bygone times, side saddle or astride. Side Saddle Costume Concours d’Élégance Rules:The sole criterion of this Class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse/pony and rider, and the way of going of the
horse/pony. Safe tack must be used. Detailed inspection of the rider’s period costume is not required. Fancy dress is not
permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask small groups of riders
to give short displays. 4 Special rosettes will be awarded: to the highest placed Registered Adult members wearing a silk hat, a bowler hat,
safety hat and the highest placed Registered Junior Member of the S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Competitors
should do a brief résumé about their costume for the Commentator. Junior must wear hats to current British Safety Standards for this

VETERAN HORSE OR PONY RIDDEN SIDE SADDLE - (open to horse/ponies 15 yrs and over) To be judged on manners, way of
going, movement, suppleness for age and turnout.
SIDE SADDLE CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE - The sole criterion for this Class is the elegance of the picture presented by horse and
rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress
or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the judge
may ask groups of three or four riders to give short displays. Three special rosettes will be awarded – to the highest placed Adult
rider wearing a silk hat and to the highest placed Adult rider wearing a bowler hat and the highest placed Junior Member of the
S.S.A. carrying their current Championship Points Cards. NB Silk hats are permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS AT ANY TIME
OF DAY. Juniors must wear hats to current British Safety Standards or above must be worn for this Class. Adult riders not wearing
such hats do so at their own risk.
BEST HORSE OR PONY RIDDEN SIDE SADDLE - Open to horses and ponies 4 yrs old and over, conformation and manners will be
taken into consideration. Special Rosette to the highest placed Adult and Junior Members of the S.S.A. carrying their current
Championship Points Cards. This is a qualifying Class for the iPura Ladies Side Saddle Championship at the BSHA National
Championships on 12th - 14th September 2014. The highest placed Hack, Cob or Riding Horse type, mare and gelding 4 yrs old and
over, exc 148cms to qualify: if already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will
go forward and so forth to fifth place. Riders to be 15 yrs old or over at the time of qualification.
SIDE SADDLE RIDING CLUB HORSE OR PONY - Open to horses and ponies 4 yrs old or over. Riders will be required to give a
short show including a small jump, maximum height 61 cms (2’) excluding the national show. The height may be adjusted during the
course of the Class at the judge's discretion. The Class shall be judged on the show, the manners of the horse/ pony, and its suitability
for the rider. Confirmation will not be considered. A special rosette will be awarded to the highest placed registered Adult and Junior
member of the S.S.A. Hats to current British safety standards must be worn.
THE SENIOR SIDE SADDLE GRACIOUS LADIES - (Open to riders 50 yrs of age and over) To be judged on the graceful
elegance of picture whilst in movement.

Youngstock. This is a qualifier for the BSHA Martin Wood Supreme In-Hand Breeding Championship, to be held at the BSHA National Championships September
2014, with £1000 to the winner. Champion & Reserve to qualify. The BSHA offer a Martin Wood Qualified rosette to the Champion & Reserve. The BSHA also offer a

Aintree International Equestrian Centre (Trading as Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited) - Terms and Conditions
1.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all competitors and spectators and must be adhered to at all times. Entry into any competition, including the
hire of the Centre, shall be deemed an acceptance of these Terms and Conditions
2. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited reserve the right to
refuse entry/hire without stating the reason, to cancel the competition and all rights of admission.
3. Aintree International Equestrian Centre, Aintree Racecourse Developments Limited and Aintree Racecourse Company Limited do not accept any
responsibility or liability for any injury, accident, damage or illness to any person, property or animal whatsoever, or for any loss whatsoever, arising
out of, or occurring at any competition, show or event. It shall be a condition of entry, each entrant shall indemnify the organisers against any legal
action whatsoever arising from any accident.
4. Everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the officials and
stewards.
5. All entry, stable and hire fees include VAT@ 20%. All entries and hire fees must be paid for in full prior to leaving the Show. A £15 administration fee
will be payable on any outstanding accounts or dishonoured cheques, plus interest.
6. All prize money will be paid out on the day of the Show and must be collected from the Secretary’s Office before 6.00p.m. Prize money not
collected on the day will be forfeited.
7. All horses and ponies using the Stables must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against equine flu. There will be random checking of
certificates, any queries regarding this, please call the Show Secretary.
8. All entries must be made on the entry form with full entry fees. Every Exhibitor and Competitor will be held responsible for the correctness of his or
her entry forms and if he/she fails, when called upon by the Stewards or Show to prove the correctness of such entry, the entry may be disqualified
and any award made to it cancelled.
9. No motor bikes or scooters are allowed on the Racecourse. All dogs must be kept on leads and under proper control at all times.
10. Any individual seen to be causing distress or suffering to any animal will be asked to leave the Racecourse and may be reported to the appropriate
authorities.
11. No horse or pony under the age of 4 years shall be ridden in any Class.
12. Full and correct attire must be worn by all competitors when riding. For jumping Classes all competitors and grooms, when mounted, must wear a
British Standard skull/hard hat, which must be fastened. Failure to do so will incur elimination. Aintree Equestrian Centre accepts no responsibility for
any injury arising from a failure to comply with this.
13. Any competitor who is considered by the organisers, stewards, judges to have received outside assistance without prior permission, will be
eliminated from the Class.
14. Entries received after the close of entry (Friday 11th July) will be charged a £10 surcharge for each Class entered.
15.
All Breed/Society registration numbers must be given where applicable.
16.
All Competitor numbers are to be collected from the Secretary’s Office on arrival at the Showground.
17.
The Organisers reserve the right to appoint a replacement Judge whenever it is deemed necessary.
18. Objection to entries or awards must be made in writing to the Secretary on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of £20 which will be refunded if
the objection is sustained.
19.
The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, limit, divide or amalgamate any Class.
20.
The decision of the Judge is final.
21.
Horses and ponies may be measured at the discretion of the Judge unless in possession of a valid J.M.B. height certificate.
22.
No animal suffering from a contagious disease may be brought onto the Racecourse.
23. In the event of a Veterinary Surgeon advising the removal of any animal from the Show his decision shall be final and immediately complied with.
24.
All disputes shall be referred to the Aintree Equestrian Centre Organisers, whose decision is final.
25. All persons entering, competing or exhibiting an animal in a Class covered by a Breed or Showing Society either to which the Aintree National Showing
Show is affiliated or which is affiliated to the Aintree National Showing Show shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the relevant
Breed or Showing Society and be subject to its constitution and rules (including any disciplinary procedures).
26. Exhibitors must provide their own armbands. Anyone who fails to wear an armband when this has been requested will be debarred from competing
for that Special Award.
27. This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society (BSPS) and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in BSPS
Classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the Society, including the Disciplinary procedures and shall
be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS
28. Exhibitors are responsible for all costs in connection with any veterinary treatment given on the Showground and must be settled at the time with the
Veterinary Surgeon concerned.
29. Strictly no admittance to the Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30 a.m. on the morning of the Show. Strictly NO EXERCISING of animals on the
Showground/Racecourse prior to 5.30am. on the day of the Show. Anyone found infringing these rules will be disqualified from entering the Show
and no refund of entry fees will be made.
30. It is a condition of entry that exhibitors conform with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and for ensuring that safe working
practices are followed by themselves, their employees, Agents and Contractors. Exhibitors shall at all times comply with the instructions of the Show
Officials.
31. Exhibitors Risk and Responsibility – Neither AINTREE RACECOURSE or AINTREE INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN CENTRE, NOR ANY OF IT’S OFFICERS
OR SERVANTS SHALL BE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE or accountable for anything that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatsoever) to
exhibitors or their servants or agents or to any exhibit or to any vehicle carrying any exhibit or anything else brought into the Showground or for
anything else arising out of the Show. EACH EXHIBITOR shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss or injury or damage done to or
commissioned by or arising from any animal or article exhibited by him or her and shall indemnify the Show against all legal or other proceedings in
regard thereto.
32. The Aintree National Show cannot be responsible for the clashing of Classes and exhibitors should bear this in mind when making their entries. We
cannot guarantee timings, it is up to the competitor to keep an eye on when their class is. Entry fees WILL NOT be refunded if you miss your class or
your class clashes.
33. No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete in
any showing Classes at Aintree National Showing Show without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at
risk of injury.
34. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to insure all property and animals on the showground or elsewhere which is his/her own, or for which he/she is
responsible. Exhibitors should effect Employers Liability Insurance where this is required by statute.
35. REFUNDS will only be given on the production of a valid veterinary certificate. Class entry fee and first aid fee will only be refunded. Online booking fee
NOT included.
36. POSTPONEMENT OR ABANDONMENT Exhibitors shall not have any claim against the Aintree National Show in respect of any loss or damage
whatsoever consequent upon the Show failing (for whatever reason) to be held. Under no circumstances will entry fees be
returned in
the case of postponement or cancellation of the Show for whatever reason.
COMPETITORS MUST MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF ANY RULES REGARDING ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE, AS
LAID DOWN BY THE SOCIETY TO WHICH THEIR CLASSES ARE AFFILIATED.

Aintree National Show follows the rules of it’s affiliated Societies. For clarification, in SHB (Sport Horse
Breeding of Great Britain) and BSPS (British Show Pony Society) Classes, hats with chinstraps are
mandatory, BSHA (British Show Horse Association) ‘recommends’ the wearing of a British Standard Safety
Hat at all times, CHAPS require a 3 point harness riding hat to be worn by all Junior competitors and all
other CHAPS competitors should refer to the Show rules. Aintree National Show rules state that it ‘strongly
recommends that current hats to the standard PAS015, EN1384 or ASTM F1163 with either a kite mark or SE1
correctly fastened should be worn in all ridden Classes. For other affiliated Classes please refer to the
society’s rules.
THE AINTREE NATIONAL SHOW IS A QUALIFIER FOR:
B.S.P.S. (affiliation number 86/14)
This Show is affiliated to the British Show Pony Society ("B.S.P.S."), and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part in B.S.P.S.
Classes, whether or not members of the B.S.P.S. are subject to the Rules of the B.S.P.S., including the disciplinary procedures, and shall be deemed to have
consented to the jurisdiction of the B.S.P.S."
In all Classes affiliated to the BSPS, the BSPS Rules take precedence.
THE BRITISH SHOW PONY SOCIETY: SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
The 1st and 2nd prize winners from Classes 168, 170, 171, 240 - 242, 223 - 227, 200, The 1st, 2nd and 3rd from Classes 209, 210, 220, 222, 227, 229 - 232, 258 - 265 and
the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Classes 208, 218 will qualify for the BSPS Championship Show, provided the animal is registered in accordance with Rule 23 and 28
and ridden by a BSPS member, all persons entering, competing or otherwise taking part whether a Member or not shall be deemed to the jurisdiction of
the BSPS
BSPS ‘CLASSIC SECURITY UK LTD’ CHALLENGE 2014: The highest placed pony in the L/R, F/R, Open Show Pony, L/R of Hunter Type, Open Heritage Ridden,
Open Show Hunter Pony, Cradle & Nursery Stakes, Open Working Hunter Pony Open Heritage WHP and the Open Intermediate SRT, SHT and WH that has
not qualified for the 2014 H.O.Y.S. in the appropriate Class will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified then the next eligible pony will
qualify.

This show is a qualifier for the “BSPS Premier League”, the 1st. 2nd. 3rd. & 4th placed ponies in the Lead Rein and First Ridden,128cms., 138cms. and
148cms. Show Pony, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cms., 133cms., 143cms. and 153cms. Show Hunter Pony, Cradle and Nursery Stakes, 133cms., 143cms. and
153cms. Working Hunter Pony, Intermediate Show Riding, Show Hunter and Working Hunter Classes and the Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open
Heritage Ridden Small, B & C’s, and Large Breeds and the Open Heritage WHP Classes, and 1st to 4th in Mixed Height Open Classes.

This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Champion of Champions, the Champion Mini Show Pony, the Champion Mini WHP, the Champion Open Show Pony,

Ridden, and the Champion Heritage Open WHP. In Heritage Mixed Height/Breed Classes the first prize winner will qualify.
B.S.P.S.”BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES” BEST RIDER
“This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Best Rider of the Year”
The Best Rider in the Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Lead Rein Hunter Type, 128cms. 138cms. and 148cms. Show Pony, the 122cms. 133cms. 143cms.
and 153cms. SHP., the Cradle and Nursery Stakes, the 133cms. 143cms. and 153cms. WHP., the Intermediate Show Riding Type, Show Hunter, Working
Hunter Classes and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden and to the best rider 25years and under in the Heritage Ridden and WHP Classes will receive a
Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer Championships Show.
BRITISH SHOW HORSE ASSOCIATION: Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association. Competitors and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership with a Day
Ticket. Horses registered with the Association must be Owned, Exhibited and Ridden by current BSHA Members. Riders must be 15 years of age or older.
DAY TICKETS Non-Members may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Tickets per Exhibitor, per Horse per season. A Day Ticket will allow entry into
Amateur, Home Produced, In-Hand, Novice, Working, Young Rider and Open Affiliated Classes only. Horses registered on a Day Ticket do not require a JMB
height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form from the BSHA website.
Horses competing in the Sport Horse Breeding of Great Britain Classes at their Affiliated Shows cannot compete in Hack and Riding Horse Classes at the
same show. This does not apply to SHB (GB) Ridden Sport Horse Classes.
The three highest placed prize winners in all Open Affiliated Classes will qualify to compete in the BSHA Classic Supreme Classes at the National
Championship Show 2014.
The BSHA offer a Novice, Young Rider and Amateur rosette in each Open Class and a Championship rosette for each section (with the exception of Open
Working Show Horse)."

NCPA PONY OF THE YEAR:- This show is a qualifier for the N.C.P.A. Pony of the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in
conjunction with the Pony of the Year Show at Rodbaston College on 7th September 2014. First and second prize winners in appropriate Classes will
qualify.
COLOURED HORSE AND PONY SOCIETY (UK) 14023 This show is affiliated to the Coloured Horse and pony Society (UK). Both owner and the
rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered with CHAPS (UK) to compete. The CHAPS (UK)
Championship Show will be held on 28th - 30th August 2014.
Shows held on or after the date of the Championship Show will count as 2015 qualifiers. Members to apply in writing to CHAPS (UK) for
appropriate
qualifier card. The following Classes 109-118 are CHAPS (UK) qualifiers. For full rulings and information on competition/qualification, please refer to the

NATIONAL HUNTER SUPREME CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW [NHSCS]
The three highest placed horses in the L/W, M/W, H/W & Small Hunter Classes will qualify to enter at the NHSCS. No horse lower than third will qualify.
THIS SHOW IS A QUALIFIER FOR THE IRISH DRAUGHT HORSE SOCIETY (GB) BLUE CHIP £2,000 CHALLENGE
The highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of Classes 22 & 23 will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000
Challenge.
Horses in these Classes MUST be registered on the Irish Draught Breed Registers (main studbook) or Irish Draught Sport Horse Registers. Registration
numbers must be stated on the entry form. ALSO, the highest placed horse (not already qualified) from each of Classes 44 - 46 (Working Hunter), 24 - 28
(Ridden Cob), 38 - 40 & 43 (Riding Horse), 7 - 14 (Ridden Hunter) that is registered or eligible for registration on the Irish Draught or Irish Draught Sport
Horse Registers, i.e. with a minimum of 25% proven Irish Draught breeding, will qualify for the Final of the Blue Chip & IDHS (GB) £2,000 Challenge. Horses
in these Classes need not be registered with the Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) to qualify but MUST be on the IDHS (GB) Registers by the time of the
Championship. THE CHAMPIONSHIP will be held at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 30th –31st August 2014 at the Lincolnshire Showground, Grangede-Lings Lincoln LN2 2NA]. NB: A horse may only qualify for the Final once, regardless of the type or number of Classes won, placed in or entered. Each
Qualifier will receive a card and a £10 voucher from Blue Chip. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at
www.idhsgb.com/qualified/ to inform the IDHS (GB) that they have qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form a qualifier’s pack
will be sent out direct to the qualifier. IN THE FINAL, the Champion will be awarded £1,000 prize money, a Trophy and a Blue Chip Rug. The Reserve
Champion will be awarded £500 and 3rd to 7th inclusive will be awarded £100 each. In addition, the highest placed Pure Bred Irish Draught will receive a
Trophy and £100 and the highest placed 158cms (15.2hh) and under will receive a Trophy and £50.
NFU MUTUAL IRISH DRAUGHT YOUNGSTOCK CHALLENGE:
This show is a Qualifier for the NFU Mutual Irish Draught Youngstock Challenge. The two highest placed PUREBREDS from each age group - yearlings, 2
year olds, and 3 year olds - from Class 17, eligible for Class 1 on the Irish Draught Breed Register by an RID (GB), ID Class 1 or ID Class 2 sire out of a Graded*
dam and also 2 and 3 year old fillies already Graded* or, if one or both have already qualified, the horse next in line in each age group will qualify to go
forward to the Final at the IDHS (GB) Annual Breed Show on 30th –31st August 2014 at the Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings Lincoln LN2 2NA. (*A
Graded* mare or filly is one which has been inspected or overstamped by the IDHS (GB) and passed into one of the following categories: ID Class 1, ID Class
2, RID, AID, or the Supplementary Grade Up Register.)
Each qualifier will receive a card. Qualifiers are required to complete an online form at www.idhsgb.com/qualified/ to inform the IDHS(GB) that they
have qualified for the Final. Following submission of the online form, a qualifier’s pack will be sent out direct to the qualifier. In the Final, there will be
three Classes each with prize money to the value of £150. The two highest placed semi-finalists from each Class will go
forward to the Championship, where the Champion will receive £150 and Reserve Champion £100.
IDHS (GB) SPECIAL INCENTIVE CARDS: The Irish Draught Horse Society (GB) will award Special Incentive Cards to the highest placed Irish Draught Pure
Bred or Irish Draught Sport Horse in Classes 44 - 47 (Working Hunter), 24 - 31 (Ridden Cob), 38 - 43 (Riding Horse), 1 - 6 (In Hand Hunter), 7 - 16 (Ridden
Hunter). To be eligible, exhibits must be registered with or overstamped by the IDHS(GB) on either their Irish Draught Breed Registers or Irish Draught
Sport Horse Registers. Registration numbers to be stated on the entry form.
The Tattersalls, RoR Thoroughbred Show Series 2014
The Tattersalls and RoR Thoroughbred Ridden Show Horse Class
Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple
double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first two go forward to the championship at the Hickstead Derby Meeting on 2014. Qualification will go
down to 4th place if the first 2 have already qualified. All entries MUST be registered with Weatherbys in their General Stud Book and MUST also be
registered with the ROR. The Class is open to thoroughbreds that have RACED. There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15years or over. The
Class will be run under the rules of RoR. Horses will be ridden by the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.
TGCA (GB)The Traditional Gypsy Cob Association
TGCA In Hand Classes
These Classes are qualifiers for the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show (TOYS) which will be held at
Keysoe EC, Bedfordshire, on 19th and 20th September 2014. These Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. You do not need to be a current
member or to have your horse registered with the TGCA in order to take part in these Classes.
Qualification will go to the top 3 youngstock, top 3 up to 14hh and top 3 over 14h senior in hand, provided the exhibit meets the traditional gypsy
cob breed standard (see stallion exception below).
All exhibits must be registered (passports over-stamped) and owners and handlers be fully paid up members either prior to, or within 21 days of the
show date. Existing members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non members will receive a qualification
slip from the judge and will need to join the TGCA and register their horse within the 21 day timeframe in order to validate this qualification.
All stallions (four years and over) must be licensed with the TGCA prior to the show and must display their TGCA stallion disc on their bridle when
competing in order to qualify for TOYS. Non licensed stallions may compete in the Classes but are not eligible for qualification. All stallions and colts
(two years and over) must be bitted when in the ring.
Foals born in the current year are not permitted to be shown in TGCA Classes, though they may be shown at TOYS.
Ridden Classes: Exhibits must be 4 years and over and comply with the above. Qualification will go to the top 3 up to 14hh and top 3 over 14h.
Additional TOYS qualification is awarded to the highest placed junior rider and the highest placed exhibitor eligible for the restricted category in the
Class (i.e. rider and exhibit NOT to have qualified for HOYS, RIHS, or been placed 1st to 3rd at any county level or in any TOYS Finals in the last 24
months). Cards need to be signed for the categories.
For Shows that are invited to run as a TGCA Quest Show, the TGCA Quest for a Star Championship is open to the first and second placed from the
TGCA qualification Classes. This Championship Class is only open to current TGCA members (membership cards must be presented) and stallions
must be already licensed with the TGCA and display their TGCA stallion disc on their bridle. The Quest Champion and Reserve qualify for the Ultimate
Star Championships at TOYS 2014

QUALIFICATION FOR P(UK) SUMMER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
1st 2nd and 3rd placed horses/ponies in all Summer National Championships will qualify for the 2014. P(UK) Summer National Championships. Mixed height
Classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd qualify only. Competitors in qualifying positions, who are not current members of P(UK) are allowed 14 days in which to become
members and register their horses/ponies in order for the qualification to remain valid. The exception being any competitor qualifying at a show between
1 July and 31 July must submit their membership within 48 hours after the qualifying event in order for the qualification to remain valid. Lee Smith
Members are Eligible to qualify for Lee Smith finals at the Summer National Championships. Lee-Smith Competition Cards must be completed and signed
by the judge for each National Championship during the judging process of the qualifying Championship. Please apply for your Lee-Smith Competition Card
on the membership form. NO QUALIFICATION CARDS WILL BE PRESENTED IN THE RING. Where a Confined Novice qualifier is combined within an Open
Class the highest placed confined novice horse/pony wearing a white armband will qualify.
WORKING SHOW HORSE RULES - All affiliated Open Working Show Horse Classes are qualifiers for the SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year
Championship, to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show. The two highest placed horses, in the top five, not already qualified in each Open
Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Championships; no Horse placed lower than fifth will qualify. Those Shows held after the 2014 National
Championship Show will carry the qualification(s) forward to 2014; see Rule 9 for further information.
Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate Eventer, or above, as at the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any
Working Show Horse class. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but must then select one Horse to take through to the Ride and
Conformation phases (if required). No change of Rider is allowed. When jumping in the Ring, the practice or collecting area, all Riders must wear
protective headgear, according to the current approved BSI or European Standard. Skullcaps must be worn with a dark coloured plain peaked cover.
Horses may wear protective boots, of a plain colour, for the jumping phase only; no weighted boots are permitted; no change of tack is permitted
between jumping and flat phases. Jumps: Novice: minimum 2’3 maximum 2’6, maximum spread 2’6. Open: minimum 2’9 maximum 3’0, maximum spread
3’0 Please note that the height of the jumps may be raised at the National Championship Show at the discretion of the Course Builder/Show Director.
Scoring: Jumping - 40, Style - 20, Conformation, movement and type - 20, Ride and manners - 20 Penalties: Knockdown - 10, 1st Refusal - 15 2nd Refusal - 20,
3rd Refusal - Elimination, Fall of Horse/Rider or Error of Course - Elimination Stepping back at any obstacle on the course will be counted as a refusal.
Working Show Horse Judging: to be judged on jumping, style, conformation and ride. Movement, type and manners will all be considered. Judges should
ask the class to gallop (conditions permitting). Exhibits should be judged under the same procedure as Working Hunters and they should be well schooled.
