The Candidate MUST schedule dosage calculations exam with Dr. Linda Johnson.
The Candidate will be given 2 attempts to successfully demonstrate the ability to calculate medication
dosage.
Candidate MUST make a 90 or above on calculation exam in order to proceed with the application process.
Upon successfully passing the Dosage Calculation Exam, Dr. Linda Johnson will provide instructions for the
completion of the skills demonstration requirement.

These questions are examples only. They represent the type of questions that may appear on the Dosage
Calculation Math. The student should be familiar with adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, rounding, and
abbreviations and conversions of values commonly used in health care (ie: gr-mg, g-mg, L-mL, lb-kg etc
1. The patient has an order for Morphine 0.75 mg IM now. The nurse has Morphine labeled 5 mg /2
mL. How many mL will the nurse give to the patient?
2. The patient has an order for Fentanyl 100 mcg orally. The nurse has a bottle of Fentanyl labeled
0.05 mg / mL. How many mL would the nurse give to the patient?
