In this case the new rules will overrule the 2009 SAEA General Regulations. ParaEquestrian classes will be run under FEI rules. Assistant Steward: Chris de Vries Entry Fees Section A & B Classes (defined under prize money): R220 per class (inclusive of DSA levy R45 & EDS levy R4.50) All classes of Section A National Classes (defined under prize money) have further DSA levy of 15.4% (inclusive of Vat) of total prize money deducted - Payable to DSA R390 composite entry fee for 2 classes Section C Classes: R160 per class for all Prelim classes Late Entries If accepted will be subject to a penalty of R100 per class Show Levy R210 per horse ( inclusive of SDRC ground levy of R130 & officials levy of R80) *SDRC members must pay the full levy as it is not a SDRC show Horse Stall Hire per Day R70 for the day. Please book with entries Prize Money The allocation of Prize money will be in accordance with relevant General Regulations as referred to above Section A National Classes: 60% of entries less levies & Medic cost per class (see entry fees above) 15.4% DSA levy of Section A Prize Money gets paid to DSA This section includes all Dressage SA Challenge classes, Class 2,4,8,10,12,14,15,19,21,23,25,26,27,28,29,30, 36-40 Section B Provincial Classes: 40% of entries less levies & Medic cost per class (see entry fee above) All warm up classes, Classes 1,3,7,9,11,13,18,20,22,24,31-35, Section C Recreational Classes: Rosettes only All Prelim classes –Class 5,6,16,17 Order of Riding A random draw will establish the order of riding for the Dressage Challenge in each section. For EM, M & Adv classes the warm-up class will not run parallel to the Challenge class. See rule 31.3.6 Important • *JUNIOR NOVICE, ADULT NOVICE, ADULT ELEMENTARY, & Judge at E: Notes • • • • ADULT ELEMENTARY-MEDIUM competitors must enter the qualifying class for their grade at this event as well as the Dressage Challenge classes to be eligible for the Dressage SA Challenge. A minimum of 12 horses will qualify in each of these sections and in the event of more places being available the judges of the qualifier may select more combinations to compete in the Dressage SA Challenge event. The maximum number of entries is 100 combinations including paraequestrian classes. Non-qualifiers will be automatically entered in the relevant consolation class. Consolation classes will only be held if time permits. If less than 12 entries per section of the Dressage SA Challenge is received, the qualifier will become a warm up class and all competitors will go through to the dressage challenge Liability Neither SAEF, DSA, CDE, SDRC or any of their officials or representatives will be held responsible for accidents, injury, damage, loss or illness to horses or persons or personal property arising from any cause whatsoever at any shows they might hold. Rules and Regulations By entering you agree to acquaint yourself with and abide by the rules relevant to SAEF, DSA, SDRC and this competition, including: 1. ALL DRESSAGE SA CHALLENGE CLASSES – FEI TESTS MUST BE RIDDEN FROM MEMORY 2. NO WHIPS ALLOWED for the Challenge , and must be dropped before circling the arena 3. Whips and callers will be allowed in the warm up/qualifier classes 4. BITS ALLOWED FOR ALL FEI TESTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: a. Preliminary test – Snaffles only b. Elementary, Medium and Advanced – Snaffles or double bridles are allowed c. Prix St George & upwards – Double bridles only 5. SPURS are optional in all tests 6. All horses must enter the grade they are registered in with DSA as at closing date of entries 7. SADDLERY AND DRESS As per DSA Dressage Rules, Section 33, all prize winners in the Dressage SA Challenge must present themselves mounted and correctly dressed. Failure to comply may result in the forfeiture of prize money, grading points, and any trophies and rosettes as per the relvant General Regs as referred to abovee PROTESTS AND APPEALS As per the relevant SAEF General Regulations as referred to above. Any protests or appeals must be addressed to the Show Secretary, in writing, accompanied by a deposit of R500.00 for protests and R600.00 for appeals forNational Classes R400.00 / R500 for all other classes. DRUG TESTING SAEF/DSA reserves the right to sample for prohibited substances from any horse, or competitor at this event. CONDUCT Any owner or rider who attempts to harass or influence the Judges, Stewards, or Officials, or who at any time uses any contemptuous or abusive language on the showground, whether to any of the Judges, Stewards or Officials, may forfeit his/her rights to any prizes to which they might otherwise be entitled. Likewise, no abusive, aggressive treatment of horses will be tolerated and will be reported to the President of the Ground Jury and Chief Steward (Please refer to the relevant Section in the SAEF rules as referred to above.)
