The Marshall Scholarship
Campus deadline: September 3, 2014
Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United
Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at the graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society,
Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American people, their governments and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wideranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programs contributes to their ultimate success.
Who is eligible?
Wellesley College seniors who will obtain their bachelor’s degree before the start of their studies in the UK and Wellesley College alumnae who have graduated in the last two years;
U.S. citizens;
Students and alumnae with a GPA of at least 3.7;
Students and alumnae with a strong record of leadership; and
Students and alumnae with strong “ambassadorial potential.”
How do I apply?
All Wellesley College candidates for the Marshall Scholarship must be nominated by the school in order to apply. Each fall, a faculty committee assembles to evaluate, interview and select our nominees for that year.
