CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT Between The Faculty of Humanities of Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia) ARTICLE 1 The subject of the present Agreement is setting up an educational and scientific co-operation of teachers and students between the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University in Prague (CU) and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science of Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR). ARTICLE 2 Both Faculties shall endeavour to promote, as far as their financial and other means allow them: - academic exchanges of professors, lecturers, students and post-graduates; - joint scientific research activities, primarily in the sociological field, within the previously approved by both sides research programmes and projects; - joint organization of conferences, seminars, symposiums and the like; - exchanges of publications covering all aspects of co-operation. ARTICLE 3 A detailed co-operation programme along different thematic lines identified in the Article 2 shall be determined every two years by the authorities of both Faculties or by their representatives (in charge of the external relations of the Universities). Financial support for the activities mentioned in the Article 2 will be sought from the budgets of both Universities as well as from national and international organization supporting scientific and exchange programmes. Financial means of the joint work programmes will be identified by both Faculties in special agreements. ARTICLE 4 The present Agreement becomes effective on the date of its signature and is valid for five years. Each party may withdraw from this Agreement by giving a written notice of its withdrawal two months prior to the refusal to continue cooperation. The present Agreement remains automatically valid unless this renunciation is explicitly given. ARTICLE 5 The signatories appoint Marek Skovajsa, Ph.D., vice-dean for international affairs for the Faculty of Humanities of CU and Professor N.P. Narbut, the Head of Sociology Chair, for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of PFUR as coordinators of the Agreement.
