WTU Calculation Guide Weighted Teaching Units (WTUs) are the faculty workload generated for a course. The calculations of WTUs are based on course classification (CS number). Courses with zero units carry zero WTUs. Definitions and Calculations Adjusted Course Credit Units (A-CCU): course credit units used to determine the faculty WTUs. Course Classification Number (CS Number): a code which indicates the mode of instruction of a given section or CS segment. Workload factor: each CS number has a workload factor. Factor may be k-(C classification courses) or s(S classification courses).
