12 OILS OF ANCIENT SCRIPTURE
Main Book References: Healing Oils of the Bible By David Stewart, PHD, Bible King James Version, and The Chemistry of
Essential Oils Made Simple.
Oils used: Joy, Exodus2, Thieves, 3 Wise Men, Valor and the 12 Oils of Ancient Scripture Oil Collection.
Where can Essential Oils of BIBLICAL QUALITY be obtained? There are a few growers and distilleries in North America
that produce high quality oils fulfilling all of the criteria for “therapeutic grade.” Young Living Essential Oils is the largest
and best known of these.
If you see the AFNOR
designation on the label, the Oil fulfills the European standards for Essential Oils. Young Living
brand oils meet the AFNOR and the ISO (International Standardization Organization) standards and much more.
Therapeutic grade oils must be organically grown, unadulterated, properly distilled and meet other criteria which few
brands other than Young Living Essential Oils actually meet.
Definition of Therapeutic grade oil from the book The Chemistry of Essential Oils by David Stewart, PHD: An Oil that is
specially distilled from plants that are cultivated organically or grown wild in a clean environment. No chemical fertilizers
are added to the soil, and crop cultivation is free of herbicides and pesticides. Essential Oils should be extracted by
steam distillation at minimum temperatures and pressures as was done in ancient times. No chemical solvents are to be
used in the extraction process.
We begin the program by passing around the “Oil of Joy”. The Bible mentions oils of Joy, gladness or rejoicing in:
Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the
garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD,
that he might be glorified.
Psalms 45:7-8 7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with
the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces,
whereby they have made thee glad.
Proverbs 27:9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
Spikenard was mentioned in the Bible seven times and was the last oil received by Christ before going to the Cross.
John 12:1-3 1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead,
whom he raised from the dead. 2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat
at the table with him. 3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and
wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Revelation 22:1-2 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God
and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare
twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
Mark 6:12-13 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed
with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
Healing can occur OVER TIME or INSTANTLY! 40 healings listed in the Bible were gradual receiving
“therapy,” while 30 healings in the Bible were INSTANT.
Those of us who use, administer, and teach the use of these oils feel that we are carrying on the work of JESUS as
taught to his disciples.

unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred
and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, 24 And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the
shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: 25 And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound
after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. 26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation
therewith, and the ark of the testimony, 27 And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the
29
altar of incense, 28 And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot.
And thou shalt
30
sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his
sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office. 31 And thou shalt speak unto the children
of Israel, saying, this shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.
Page 6 John 19:39 39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture

Page 11 Exodus 30:34-36 34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and
galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight: 35 And thou shalt make it a
perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy: 36 And thou shalt beat some of it
very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be
unto you most holy.
Page 12 Numbers 5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her,

offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
Numbers 16:46-50 46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put
on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out
from the LORD; the plague is begun. 47 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the
congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an
atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed. 49 Now
they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter
of Korah. 50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague
was stayed.
Isaiah 60:6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba
shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

and frankincense and myrrh.
