SSR – SYMBOLIC BOOK COVER PROJECT Major Assignment – No Outside Sources Allowed Based on your recently read SSR book, you must create a poster sized book cover that contains 5 symbols from the book. In addition to your poster you must revise and type up the reading logs you completed while reading and turn them in with your poster. Book Cover Poster Requirements 1. Your Poster must have the design appeal of a book cover. This means that obvious effort has been put into it to make it look like the cover of a book. Your cover cannot just be a replication of a cover that is already available for the book. Your design must be new and unique. 2. Your Book Cover poster must contain 5 symbols on it. Each of these symbols will have a paragraph explaining it on your revised reading logs. Make sure it is easy to tell what the symbols are, so that I can match them up to your explanations on your reading logs. 3. Like the cover of a normal book, you must include the title and author of your book on the poster. Revised Reading Log Requirements. 1. You must turn in revised, typed versions of your reading logs along with your poster. On the back of this page you have revised instructions for the reading logs. Make sure you follow the format exactly. 2. The paragraphs for each reading log must be in essay-style paragraph format (i.e. topic sentence, transition, textual evidence, and analysis). 3. As written about on Reading Log #5, one of your symbols should be one that you created to represent a major element in the novel. This symbol would not actually be present in the book. You created it. 4. Make sure the pages covered in your reading logs cover the entire book.
