STEP 1: To apply for your EU-residence permit remember to bring:





Fill in the OD1 Application form and sign it, only the first 7 pages are relevant to you. Be sure to state
your entire name (as in your passport). Find the form here:

1 copy of your letter of admission from the University of Copenhagen
Bring your Passport/national ID card with picture
2 copies of your passport (page with your photo and personal information) or national ID card (front
and back)
1 passport photo. This must be a real photo, prints are not accepted. The photo must be stapled to
your application
PLEASE NOTE that you might be asked to sign a declaration of financial independence
STEP 2: To apply for your CPR-number remember to bring:





A valid EU residence permit/registration certificate from the State Administration (Statsforvaltningen)
or a residence permit from the Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment (STAR)
Passport/national ID card with picture
Nordic CPR-number if entering from a Nordic country
A proof of your address in Copenhagen (a copy of your rental contract, letter from your landlord e.g.).
A copy of the blue EU health insurance card (back and front) -only if you have such a card and will stay
in Denmark less than a year
Students who don’t live in Copenhagen, Frederiksberg, Allerød, Ballerup, Dragør, Frederikssund, Gladsaxe,
Glostrup, Hillerød, Høje-Taastrup, Hvidovre, Kalundborg, Køge, Lejre, Lyndby-Taarbæk, Roskilde, Rudersdal,
Rødovre, Slagelse, Solrød or Stevns, will need to apply for their CPR-number at their local Citizens Service
Office/(Borgerservice).

FAQ
Do I need a residence permit?
Yes, you do! You need to register with the Danish authorities and this is how to do it.

ALL STUDENTS – EU/EEA as well as non-EU! – will need to apply for the CPR-number.
What is a CPR-number and do I need it?
It is a 10-digit personal identification number that ensures that you are covered by the Danish National
Health Care System. You need the number if you want open up a Danish bank account, if you get a job or
want to buy an internet or phone subscription.
What is a valid address?




A valid address is an official address registered in the CPR system
Be sure to state the correct address e.g. which floor you are living on and which side or door number
You should state the address where you are actually staying and it should be for a month minimum
from the day you apply for your CPR.nr.
It is important to note, that not all housing companies allow subletting or rental of room and that the
number of people staying at the address is restricted.
What should I bring to apply for these things?

Can I print at the events?
Printing is not possible – please print the necessary documents beforehand.
I am a full degree / exchange / guest student. Is this offer relevant for me?
