Not describe the dead as "The forgiven" or "The one given mercy" or "The saved" but you may write, "May God forgive" or "May God have Mercy". iv. No picture or symbols of any kind will be allowed on headstone. 4. It is advised no Muslim women allowed in the funeral procession i.e., the walk after prayer to the cemetery or at the cemetery. 5. Gravesites are 4' x 9' with a headstone only. 6. Gravesites shall not be dressed with anything including but not limited to plants, flowers, pictures, concrete edging, etc. 7. When helping to carry the body go to the front of the casket and move to the back so that 7 to 8 men are on each side continuously carrying the body until reaching the grave site. 8. Very important when crossing the road from mosque to cemetery proceed down the middle lane of highway until the entrance of cemetery drive way. Also when crossing the road please be careful, and orderly way in order to expatiate the crossing of the road for the other traffic which is on hold. 9. Funeral cost $2500 charge by ETIS, not include funeral home charges which is paid direct to funeral home by deceased family. Includes: Digging of ground, concrete coffin, cotton cloth for shrouding, cleaning supplies, funeral facility for washing etc., police escort fees. Headstones etc. After the body is washed, place in the back part of men prayer hall. Death Certificate provided by Funeral Home Services or information of the deceased by there family for cemetery record ASAP. Wash and shroud body. Two or three adult Muslims should perform the washing (men to wash and shroud men, women to wash and shroud women, spouse may perform washing and shrouding, minors may be washed by either). Once the body is shrouded, it is placed in a coffin in front of those who are to perform salat-ul-janaza. The prayer should be led by a designee of the family unless the designated Imam for ETIS is present. The coffin is then carried to the cemetery where the ground digger has already prepared the grave. Grave Preparation 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Gravedigger to dig grave and put concrete liner with approximately 4'' of dirt on the bottom. Two people to receive the body in the grave. They will place the body, facing Mecca, on the dirt. The face should be uncovered once the body has been put in the grave. Three small amounts of dirt is then thrown in the grave. Cover the top with the concrete liner cover and backfill, not to exceed 2''above sidewalk. Excess dirt to be removed offsite. Supplication for the dead and condolences to the family. Concrete box with one side opening body should be put on dirt.
