NAU Supervisors Academy
Application Form
The NAU Supervisors Academy will launch with a Supervisor Orientation held Wednesday, September 30th – Thursday,
October 1st. All applicants selected for the program will attend both days from 8:00am- 12:30pm. All applications for
are due to Cassie Petit by 5pm on Tuesday, September 1st.
Description of the program:





This leadership series enhances and develops leader knowledge and skill sets through experiential
learning, role play, case studies, etc.
The Supervisors Academy was designed based on the insight of employees at every level throughout
campus
The series includes topics/classes such as:
o Leadership
o Communication
o Trust
o Human Resource Skills (hiring, performance management, policy)
The Academy will run much like courses here at NAU. There will be 7 core classes that the participants
will attend as a cohort. Several elective classes will be offered and each participant needs to complete a
minimum of 5 electives to complete the Academy, for a total of 12 classes. (They are invited and
encouraged to take more). Those in the Academy will have 7 months to complete the 12 classes, with
graduation planned for early September.
Those elective classes will also be open and offered to anyone on campus, with the participants in the
Academy having preference in registration.
Criteria and Application Instructions:



You must supervise at least 1 benefit-eligible employee (verified by the ‘Reports to’ report)
You must be comfortable with giving and receiving feedback
You should be open and ready to commit to growing and developing yourself

Supervisors Academy Schedule
Supervisor Orientation: Everyone attends orientation
Date: Wednesday, September 30th AND Thursday, October 1st
Time: 8:00am – 12:30pm both days
We will provide breakfast on Wednesday and lunch on Thursday
Location: Drury Hotel – O’Leary Room
