Job Openings: Senior Scientist EP Technologies LLC (http://ep-technologies.com/) is a startup company started in 2012 based in Akron Ohio. The primary focus is developing atmospheric, non-thermal plasma technology for application to biological interfaces. We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist who have Ph.D. degree with dissertation or experience in at least four of the following areas Computational modeling of time-resolved plasma dynamics (e.g., electron density, electron temperature, ion density, electric field…) in any non-equilibrium plasma systems (e.g., DBD, corona…) Computational modeling of time-resolved spatial distribution of plasma-produced reactive species (e.g., OH, H2O2, O, O3, NO, HOONO…) in any non-equilibrium plasma systems (e.g., DBD, corona…) Analytical calculation of plasma properties (e.g., electron density, electron temperature, ion density, electric field…) in any non-equilibrium plasma systems (e.g., DBD, corona…) Analytical calculation of concentrations of plasma-produced reactive species in any nonequilibrium plasma systems (e.g., DBD, corona…) Computational or analytical modeling of discharge current produced from DBD devices Experimental characterization of plasma properties using optical emission spectroscopy and estimation of the rotational and vibrational temperature using the emission spectra Experimental characterization of electrical properties (e.g., discharge current, power) in any nonequilibrium plasma systems (e.g., DBD, corona…) Experimental characterization of plasma-produced short-lived reactive species (e.g., atomic oxygen, peroxynitrtie…) using any optical or chemical analysis methods Study of electron energy distribution function (EEDF) in any non-equilibrium plasma systems Design and development of power supplies for plasma generation The candidate will perform the following tasks at EP Technologies: Leads and supports in analysis and characterization of plasma products Uses computational and/or analytical methods to estimate the plasma properties in current and new plasma products. Uses methods to predict the effect of variations in key plasma parameters on the plasma properties. Specify power supply parameters for design/development of power supply for plasma generation Creates and supports in development of innovative solutions, ideas and/or processes for new and improved products Creates intellectual properties and supports patent applications Leads and supports in developing innovative solutions to address issues/challenges in plasma prototypes and methods across all company projects and teams May lead technician and/or contract employee activities on a project-by-project basis Skills desired, but not required: Hands-on experience on building atmospheric, non-thermal plasma devices If you are interested in this opportunity, please send your resume/CV to Dr. Cliff Tsai (tsai@eptechnologies.com). Any questions are also welcome.
