Edress Othman, MD, hematologist and medical oncologist joins Southcoast
Centers for Cancer Care
FAIRHAVEN, Mass. — Southcoast® Health System today announced that Edress Othman,
MD, hematologist and medical oncologist, has joined Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care.
Dr. Othman is a graduate of the University Of Aleppo Faculty Of Medicine in Aleppo, Syria. He
completed a residency in internal medicine at the SUNY Buffalo Graduate Medical-Dental Education
Consortium Program in Buffalo, N.Y., as well as a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University
of Vermont in Burlington, Vt. Previously he worked as a hospitalist and clinical assistant professor of
medicine at the Carle Foundation Hospital of the University of Illinois in Urbana, Ill.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Othman is a member of the American Society of
Hematology, the American Society of Oncology, and the American College of Physicians. He is fluent in
Arabic and Kurdish. Dr. Othman currently resides in Bristol, R.I.
