Agenda: 1. Approval of agenda TEL +45 29177601 DIR +45 30104961 MOB +45 29177601 2. Approval of minutes 3. Lab updates (very brief) gjedde@sund.ku.dk 4. CURIS (Lene Nordby) www.inf.ku.dk 5. PhD co-financed scholarships (Karsten Müller) 6. MUS 7. Misc. 8. Appointing next meeting chair 9. Evaluation Albert Gjedde chairs the meeting and Henrik Jahnsen had to cancel. 1. AG adds MUS to the agenda. 2. The minutes have yet to be sent out for approval. 3. Motor Control Lab: The lab is experiencing some problems with a fume cupboard. AG had a meeting with Arnold Boon and there are some ventilation complications in the lab. Otherwise, everything is going well. Neural Plasticity Lab: Eight PhD students have asked for three months compensation due to the move to Symbion. This will cost approximately two million kr. and the institute will need to consider its options. The principal supervisors need to be contacted. BH believes the faculty should pay for the compensation as it is a direct result of the move to Symbion. Signalling Lab: MUS are being held at the lab. JH is meeting with the construction team regarding the tower. There is no news about Martin Lauritzen’s space requirements. The lab would like to know more about Maiken Nedergaard’s possible arrival. The motivation for a centre is discussed as well as the future of the department. The lab got an article in Nature. Molpharm Lab: All is well. There is quite a bit of teaching. In 2015 the 2nd semester pharmacology which is now on the 8th semester will be moved to the 7th semester and this means double lectures until this is implemented. LAMU: The department needs to find two ergonauts. The Administration: The scholarships for next year are going to be more expensive. The prize will go from 40.000 to 60.000kr. BH asks what the extra money will cover and it seems it will mainly be administrative costs. On May 6th LYNC telephony will be implemented at INF. All employees will be set up and only guests on a case to case basis. The administration is having a Site-Visit soon. ILVILIA changed its name to ILT (SUND-INFILT). Finally, the users should ask the RejsUd supervisors with any questions regarding RejsUd. 4. The BFI impact factor is down at the university. The scientists need to become better at reporting their articles in CURIS. AG explains how the point system works. Another problem is that KU isn’t always listed as affiliation. MMR suggests having one person report all articles in CURIS. All new articles are already listed in the INF newsletter. 5. Karsten Müller informs about the PhD co-financed scholarships. The full 440.000 are now being paid up front. If the department is able to fully fund a student by other means the money will still be granted. The department is allowed 14 1/3 PhD scholarships a year and it is still unsure whether more could be obtained. FFU financed PhD cannot apply for co-financing. 6. Due to the shift in the annual year wheel MUS have been postponed from fall 2013 to spring 2014. Thus, most employees did not have a MUS in 2013 and this reflects badly on the APV report from 2013. PAGE 2 OF 3 7. Road show: TO would like to offer administrative road shows to any lab in need of help. Also, she and Jens Rekling would like to meet with the laboratories to discuss their input for the new homepage. 8. Henrik Jahnsen will chair the next meeting. 9. Good meeting. Secretary: Christina Louis Øberg. To-do list: - Everyone: Be sure to let your groups know they need to report their articles in CURIS. - David Woldbye/ Albert Gjedde: Contact PhD supervisors regarding compensation for the eight PhD students.
