advice can be obtained by calling:1. The surgery - telephones are operational 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Out of
normal surgery hours the calls are automatically transferred to Kernow Urgent Care
(Serco Health) formally Kernowdoc.
2. NHS Direct is soon to be replaced by Cornwall 111 Service.

Patients should avoid going to A&E or Minor Injury Units for medical treatment unless
they suffer a minor injury or a severe injury. Medical treatment can be obtained by
calling:1. The surgery - telephones are operational 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Out of
normal surgery hours the calls are automatically transferred to Kernow Urgent Care
(Serco Health) formally Kernowdoc. The service is run by Nurses and GPs. GP
appointments are available at locally and, if necessary, GP visits can be arranged.

We would encourage patients to contact the surgery in the first instance. Failing that, avoid
attending Treliske A&E Dept for minor injuries and attend a local Minor Injury Unit instead.

Answer is West Cornwall Urgent Care (formally casualty/minor injury unit at West Cornwall
Hospital), Camborne Redruth Community Hospital Minor Injury Unit (formally Barncoose
Hospital), Stennack Surgery Minor Injury Unit (formerly held at Edward Hain Hospital),
Helston Cottage Hospital Minor Injury Unit. Not NHS Direct or Cardrew Walk-in Centre,
although both can advise patients. Treliske Hospital should be for more serious injuries not
minor injuries.
