Foreword
It gives me immense pleasure to see the improvement in the District
Health Services in terms of coverage and quality of services provided from the
annual report of FY 2070/071.
It is apparent that the exercises of district planning & performance
review by the Illaka level. The trend of greater participation of INGOs & NGOs
in the system will certainly help facilitate improve planning and
implementation of the health service programme through the district.
It is a matter of great satisfaction the reporting status of peripheral
health institution is improving every year. I hope that this information will be
fully utilized while going through the PME cycle in health service
management.
I appreciate the contribution of all persons involving in the
preparation of this report: the grass-root level health volunteers, and staff
members who have provided door- to – door services in all the villages of the
district, the staff members of SHP, HP, PHCC, Hospital and DHO. I also wish
to extend my thanks to the all district health supervisors who have supported us
by providing their analytic report which are included in this report.
I would like to extend my appreciation to Health Right International,
Health For Life and UNFPA for providing financial and technical assistance to
complete Special health programme.
I sincerely hope that this report will prove to be a useful document
for research scholars and for those who strive to improve the health status of
district people by carrying out productive and effective health care programme

Foreword
It is with great pleasure that I write this foreword to District Health Annual
Report of Arghakhanchi District for FY 2070/71. In some ways, it is the word,
as the work of a year comes to a close. This report reflects and documents the
performance of the programs and the activities carried out by various health
institutions. It is immense pleasure to see progress in terms of coverage and
quality of services provided from the health institutions under the District
Health Office.
The profile has incorporated the comprehensive information of all the programs
carried out in the district in FY 2070/71. I hope this profile will be very much
helpful in bringing out the improvements in the planning, monitoring and
evaluation of health system of the district.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the DHO staffs, district
supervisor, hospital, PHCC, HP and SHP staffs who have highly contributed in
the improvement of the health indicator of the district. And special appreciation
goes to Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHV) for their admirable
involvement to uplift the health status of rural community.
I would like to extend my positive reception to UNFPA, Health for Life, Health
Right International, Prerana, Sakriya Sewa Samaj, Marie Stopes and other

Preface
I feel glad to see this Annual Report of District Health Office
Arghakhanchi of FY 2070/71is being published. As I know, this trend of
publishing the district health performance as Annual Report is newly developed
in Arghakhanchi district. I am sure that this kind of district annual report with
three year comparative trend analysis will provide useful and updated
information about the yearly organized programs and activities of DHO.
I found this report aims to present relevant health data and indicators
of the district including annual achievements, obstacles, and issues with
policies, strategies and targets. The report indicates a mixture of some progress
in some field and some weakness in other field during the last fiscal year. Apart
from the different information provider, the data of this report are based on the
review workshops and data provided by PHCC, HP, SHP, FCHV and other
sources. It is a compilation of all the major activities carried out by health
institutions at all levels under the DHO, Arghakhanchi.
I appreciate UNFPA, Health Right International, Health for Life,
Prerana, SakriyaSewaSamaz, Marie Stoves, and other I/NGOs who had
provided technical, financial and logistic efforts.

I am Glad to present this annual report of District Health Office Arghakhanchi
of FY 2070/071 in this third edition. Actually, this annual report is an outcome
of yearly district health performance and it consists of three years comparative
trend analysis. This report aims to present relevant health data and indicators of
the district including annual achievements, obstacles, and issues with policies,
strategies and targets.
Apart from the different information provider, the data of this report are based
on the review workshops and data provided by PHCC, HP, SHP, FCHV and
other sources. It is a compilation of all the major activities carried out by health
institutions at all levels under the DHO, Arghakhanchi. Moreover, it is the
transparent sheet of our strength, utilization of the opportunities and weakness
