The Petroleum Foundation of America, Inc. (PFA) has created a “Natural Gas Initiative”, which will supply donated natural gas to consumers who have incomes below the poverty line. In this initiative, PFA is asking you as a gas producer to donate a small portion of your produced natural gas. In exchange , you will obtain a tax deduction, and will also enhance your image in the communities where you operate. In addition, you will more than make up for the donation by selling the remainder of your gas at a much higher price. BO ARD O F DI RECTO RS* William Divine President, PFA , Inc. Our non-profit status as a charitable organization enables PFA to negotiate with gas marketers, pipelines and utilities to decrease distribution costs. (Currently, these distribution costs comprise about 73% of the price consumers pay for gas.) The producer can use this reduced-surcharge distribution contract to market the remainder of his gas. S. Support will also be provided to consumers who need emergency supplies * N O TE: Partial List of M embers of natural gas because of temporary situations (unusually cold winters or temporary financial problems). PFA will provide this gas at about one-quarter of the current price. This charge is necessary to inhibit the unnecessary waste of gas and to cover PFA’s expenses. Subject to their approval, PFA will publicize and promote the gas producers and distribution companies who contribute to this initiative. Publicity will be targeted specifically at the local level, where the gas is produced and distributed. This publicity will enhance the image of those producers who participate (as well as the industry as a whole). It will directly benefit those companies who need public support on further resource development in their area. In addition, PFA is developing its own natural gas production, and has initiated regional surveys of abandoned, orphaned, and idle wells. We are working closely with a number of universities as well as a network of volunteer consultants on this project. Many abandoned/orphaned gas wells, in particular, still contain substantial reserves. PFA intends to utilize these reserves in an effort to provide additional support for the disadvantaged. We are in the process of creating the infrastructure, using revenue derived from donated assets, to develop these unused resources. PFA is taking industry problems and turning them into solutions. All individuals or companies interested in supporting PFA by donating gas, properties or equipment (which are tax-deductible), or by volunteering their time, please contact PFA. Sincerely, William Divine, President Petroleum Foundation of America, Inc.
