Modifying the PROLSIR COMMANDS
Purpose of PROLSIR: Provide genetic analysis of a herds current service sires
***Important: PROLSIR command must be run prior to any analysis with regards to service sires. In
addition, when running the analysis we are only looking at the genetics of the last sire (LSIR) the cow or
heifer was bred to.
Example analysis taken from Dairy Comp 305 backup; Backup Date = 1/22/2015
Service Sires by Stud-Last 90 Days (Cows and Heifers)
Original Command: SUM ELNM EMILK ESCS EPL EDPR ESCE ESCR GO4 BY CSTUD FOR DSLH=1-90
Goal: Only analyze the genetics of the service sires for the HEIFERS (by Stud Code)
New Command: SUM ELNM EMILK ESCS EPL EDPR ESCE ESCR GO4 BY CSTUD FOR DSLH=1-90 LACT=0
However, using the Command: BREDSUM\MYD and choosing the last 90 days, we can see that this
dairy uses a fair amount of sexed-semen with their heifers (and different Studs)
