Since 1997, the first year medical school class
of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center has been proud to host the City Lights
Charity Benefit. In little over a decade, this
event has raised over $300,000 for local
charities. City Lights provides a time every
year for the Lubbock community to come
together to help those less fortunate.
UMC Children’s Hospital/Children’s Miracle Network
The UMC Children’s Hospital is a proud partner of
Children’s Miracle Network. Through this partnership,
UMC and CMN have been able to provide state-of-theart medical equipment and comprehensive services to
the children of the South Plains and Eastern New
Mexico for over 28 years. Funds will go towards stateof-the-art equipment purchases, funding children’s
specialty camps, remodeling the playroom, and raising
funds to assist with the new NICU. 100% of the funds
raised will stay local.

Family Promise of Lubbock
Family Promise of Lubbock is a non-profit, inter-faith,
volunteer-based community organization with a focus
on providing homeless families with children access to
the tools necessary to achieve long term financial,
parental and personal self-sufficiency through a
comprehensive program of temporary housing, case
management, education opportunities and supportive
services. Family Promise provides temporary shelter for
families with children while they work to lay the
groundwork for permanent housing. Since its beginning
in 1998 in Lubbock, more than 475 families have gone
through the program. Family Promise, and partners,
provide temporary housing for families with children,
and collaborates with many social service, educational,
employment, and health care agencies in our area to
provide a range of services for our families.

Lubbock Impact Free Clinic
The Lubbock Impact/TTUHSC Free Clinic is an urgent
care clinic that seeks to provide free basic healthcare
to the working poor and homeless population of
Lubbock and together enhance student education
through service to the community. Healthcare services
are offered at no cost to the patient. Physicians and
medical students from the TTUHSC School of Medicine
run the clinic every Wednesday night from 6:00 p.m. –
9:30 p.m. Our community partner is Lubbock Impact
who provides the facility, reception staff, Medicaid
counseling, a free meal at 5:30 p.m., pays for the
prescriptions prescribed, and offers a clothes closet.

This year the Class of 2015 is pleased to
announce the 15th Annual City Lights Charity
Ball to be held Saturday, March 31, 2012, at
6:00 pm in the Overton Hotel Ballroom A
silent auction and entertainment will
accompany dinner, drinks, and dancing with
all proceeds going to select charities.
In conjunction with the Jerry S. Rawls Golf
Course, the 8th Annual City Lights Golf
Tournament will be held on Friday, March 30,
2012 at 1:00 pm. The tournament will be
comprised of a four person scramble, a holein-one contest, lunch, and much more.
The Rawls Golf Course is home to the Texas
Tech University golf teams and has been
ranked the #3 University Golf Course in
America and #2 Public Golf Course in the US.
Step onto the green at one of the nation’s
best golf courses or enjoy an evening of finedining and good company at the beautiful
Overton Hotel. Most importantly, take part in
supporting a community that needs your help.
