PRIDE PROGRAM
The PRIDE PROGRAM is designed to promote student learning and provide students an
opportunity to get help to improve their academic standing. It is the goal of our staff to aid
and give support to all students. ACCESS period will be a 25 minute period after 1st period,
in our daily schedule. Students with A’s, B’s, and C’s will be rewarded with a choice of
where they spend their ACCESS time and are allowed the freedom to move to different
areas for academic purposes. Students with grades of C’s or better may choose from a quiet
study area in the library, an open study area in the 1st floor cafeteria, and the use of the Gym.
They may also choose to access any teacher for help. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
with A’s, B’s, and C’s also earn the privilege of OPEN CAMPUS for lunchtime. ACCESS
time may also be used for club and activity meetings when approved by administration.
Students with D’s or F’s are required to attend Guided Study or Content Tutoring. These
students also have CLOSED CAMPUS for lunch. Students with 2 or more failing grades will
be placed on Academic Probation.

PRIDE PROGRAM
Notification of Content Tutoring/Academic Probation:
Students are responsible for knowing what their grades are for each class by the end of the
day on Friday. Students should be checking their grades electronically on a consistent basis.
Students required to attend any Content Tutoring or Guided Study sessions will also be
posted on the PRIDE BOARD Friday afternoon. The student I.D. number will be followed by
the teacher they are to see for content tutoring. The Pride Board is a only a tool to notify a
student where to go. If your name is not on there and should be it is the responsibility of the
student to notify administration and report to where they should be according to their
grades.
Way Out:
Students wishing to get out of Content Tutoring or Guided Study can get the “blue” Content
Tutoring form. This can be obtained from the 1st or 2nd floor office. Students will need to
get this filled out with the required signatures and turn it back into the 1st floor office by
8:00am in order to be effective on that day. Turned in late work or missing assignments will
NOT have priority over current class work. Forms turned in after 8:00am will be effective
the following day, NO exceptions.
ACADEMIC PROBATION (RTI)
(Consecutive Weeks)
WEEK ONE-Students with two or more failing grades will be placed on Academic Probation
and required to attend Content Tutoring. These sessions will be 35 minutes during the
ACCESS period for the entire week. Students will report to the class of which they are
failing. Grades closest to passing will take priority. Attendance for these sessions is
mandatory. It is the responsibility of the student to sign in everyday.
WEEK TWO- Students on Academic Probation for a second consecutive week will be pulled
out of an elective class to meet with an academic counselor to develop an academic plan
with the possibility of working with one of our school aides for the duration of the week.
Following the academic counseling the counselor will contact home with the specifics of the
academic plan and to ask for support and then log this in Infinite Campus.
WEEK THREE- Students on Academic Probation for a third consecutive week will be
handled by administration. A parent/student meeting with administration will be scheduled
with all stakeholders to develop a plan or an alternative for the struggling student. Students
will still attend all content tutoring sessions until an alternative plan is developed.
