Social Services have a duty under the Community Care Act 1990 to make a health and social care assessment of your need and also those of your carer. Each local authority has its own procedure for assessments. They will have a leaflet explaining this. Depending on the extent of your needs and the criteria used by your local authority, you will be entitled to a range of care services.
