This position is responsible for following departmental policies and procedures to collect data for the verification and evaluation of credentials of providers applying for initial appointment and reappointment. This position serves as the contact point for provider applicants. Individuals in this role also interact with medical staff members, medical staff leaders, hospital and practice administration, and Nemours management. Through the work performed, individuals in this position assist the department in complying with applicable accreditation standards. The individuals in this role are responsible for maintaining accurate and complete credentials files and databases, identifying potential issues, and bringing them to the attention of the appropriate leaders. Follow departmental policies to collect data for the verification and evaluation of medical staff credentials. Obtain primary source verification of professional credentials for applicants to the medical staffs and practices in accordance with departmental policy. Collect data and prepare medical staff reappointment files for presentation to various committees and physicians. Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive practitioner-specific information. Maintain accurate, complete and timely information in the credentials software system. Assist in the maintenance of systems to track expiring documents. Assist in the preparation and update of all required documents. Use discretion in preparing reports and releasing such reports containing highly sensitive practitioner-specific information. Respond to queries regarding status of pending applications. Work hours: 32 hours/week. Follow established policies and procedures. Time management – meet deadlines.
