Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Medical Fellows Program One year research program with full stipend, health insurance, and research allowance. Thermo-Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program This is an odd little scholarship and might be most appropriate for a student near completion of Discovery. They give out two $10,000 awards and four $5,000 awards (paid to the SOM to offset tuition). You need to submit transcript, and description (abstract or poster or ?) of your research, and answer a question about a protein important to medicine in the next 10 years. They have confirmed that a medical student would be eligible (apply as graduate student). Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) Two week paid trip to Germany for study in ethics and history. American Pediatric Society and Society for Pediatric Research For research at a non-Emory school of medicine. Provides stipend for two to three months. Paul Farmer Global Surgery Research Associateship For a student wishing to do a 1 year program.
