Main duties: Dealing with enquiries and offering support in relation to all manner of workplace based issues in 95 schools
and colleges across the Harlow+Epping Forest Association Region – including workload, disciplinary, maternity, capability,
h&s, equality, pay + conditions. Also supporting Essex General Secretary – deputising as necessary.
Keeping members fully informed. Advertising courses & conferences. Maintaining membership database – promoting
membership and Union participation.
 Officially work via One Day per week Facilities funding – augmented by Casework Surgeries + courses.
 Day-to-day Membership contact via specially constructed Social Network pages and email support/advice.
 Developing and maintaining constructive + professional relationships with Heads, HR and other LA Officers.
 Developing and maintaining links with other NUT Officers, locally + nationally as well as other Trade Unions.

Helena Romanes (Great Dunmow); Monk’s Walk (Welwyn GC); Stewards (Harlow) and Beaumont (St Albans).

responsible for Student Voice/Reward/Charity across the school and prior to that, for 5 years, was a Pastoral Head of Year. I conducted
performance management/appraisal and supported staff to further develop their opportunities and careers. I was responsible for the
delegated budget and the Humanities’ curriculum. I fulfilled these duties 4 days per week – conducted NUT work on the 5th, facilities
funded, day.
