In 2013, TANNER Vietnam won “The Green Environment for the Country” award presented by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment due to sustainable activities that TANNER Vietnam has implemented to maintain its involvement to the global environmental protection and preservation as well as the community development. The award was presented by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment at the Hanoi Opera House. On behalf of TANNER Vietnam, Mr. Dam Quang The Hoang, the Commercial Operations Manager of TANNER Vietnam, got the award from Dr. Le Ke Son, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Environment Administration and Dr. Pham Van Tan, General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations. The Green Environment for the Country” award encourages and appreciates businesses that contribute in the protection of our environment with helpful and creative solutions for the benefit of Vietnam. By July 2013, TANNER has taken effective measures to reduce the consumption of electricity and water by 12 percent compared with 2012. TANNER has also designed and built a rooftop garden at their office building in Ho Chi Minh City’s Phu Nhuan District as an initiative to reduce their CO2 footprint and contribute to a healthy urban environment. Employees of TANNER are building a roof-top garden to help urban ecology TANNER Vietnam has designed and built a roof-top garden at their office building in Phu Nhuan District, as an initiative to save energy-consumption, reduce CO/2 emissions, urban heat effects and to contribute to a healthy urban environment. TANNER employees are taking care of the roof-top garden “Our green roof-top garden is not just about looking good, but has economic, social and educational benefits for our employees, company and the city in the near future”, said Mr. Elmar Dutt, Managing Director of TANNER. “This roof-top garden not only reduces our building’s electricity consumption and the CO/2 foot-print, but also filters air-borne pollutants, thus benefits the urban environment.” Visit of SCG at TANNER Vietnam On Wednesday, May 7 2014, SCG visited TANNER Vietnam. This visit was part of a series of activities of GetGreen Vietnam - a project promoting sustainable consumption in Vietnam, focusing on sustainable living and working of middle-income consumers in urban areas.
