Instructional Focus: The new millenium brought about many challenges and changes to our country.
The unit will start by examining the 2000 election and discussing that it was the closest in history. We will
then move on to discuss 9/11 and the results of the attacks on American society and the actions taken in
response by President Bush. The unit will then move on to discuss other major changes and challenges
to America’s way of life such as Hurricane Katrina, the financial crisis, and technological innovations.
