Class of 2018 - 9th Grade Parent/Student Open House
Wednesday, March 4th, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Dear 9th Grade Parents, Guardians and Students:
On behalf of the faculty and staff, we would like to welcome you to Woodinville High School. The class of
2018 is about to begin an incredible journey, one that will have a far-reaching impact on each student’s
life. To help answer questions and support students and their families, you are invited to 9 th Grade
Parent and Student Open House on March 4th, one evening in a series of events intended to smooth the
transition from junior high to life at Woodinville High School. We are excited to welcome our incoming
Falcons and to share what lies ahead. In addition to a rigorous academic program that includes over 20
Advanced Placement courses, we offer an inclusive leadership program, and a wealth of athletic, cocurricular and extra-curricular activities that appeal to a wide variety of student interests and are a longstanding source of pride in the community.
As mentioned, a series of events are scheduled in March that will help students prepare for their first
year as a Woodinville Falcon. On Monday, March 2nd the counselors from WHS will visit the 9th grade
students at Leota Junior High and on Tuesday, March 3rd, the 9th grade students at Timbercrest Junior
High to distribute registration forms and materials to your student for you to review prior to the evening
of March 4th. The district unified Course Description Guide is also available for review on the Woodinville
High School website under Students, Course Guide at www.nsd.org/woodinville.
On March 4th, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., you are invited to join us for an orientation at the high school
that commences in the Woodinville High School Theater and Gymnasium. An agenda is enclosed
describing the evening’s activities that include learning about the instructional programs, the registration
process, and obtaining information about our activity and athletic programs.
The completed registration forms will then be collected on Monday, March 16th at Leota Junior High and
Tuesday, March 17th at Timbercrest Junior High. A high school counselor will review your student’s
requests and a schedule will be made available to him or her during Falcon Days.
We look forward to welcoming you and helping you plan a program that will meet your student’s needs
at Woodinville High School and supports his or her future post-secondary goals. Go Falcons and
welcome to the class of 2018!
Sincerely,
Kurt Criscione
