LINK Peer to Peer Support Program Development Checklist: Weebly
The Peer-to-Peer LINK program is a Clawson School Board approved peer to peer support
course/credit program taught by certified teachers. The creation of the Weebly website for the
LINK program creates a medium for students and parents to interact with the curriculum and the
class. Weebly offers the opportunity for parents to receive information on the value of peer to
peer for their child, assignments, weekly updates, and syllabus information. The students can
use the district designed Weebly in the same way their parents do and also provides a medium
that is engaging for the students to participate.

The following is a list of documents we had organized and ready to put into our Weebly.
Examples of these documents are available through the START website

into a common document source makes sharing between programs and adding to the Weebly
more efficient.

Images/Photos
This was a learning opportunity for the development of our Weebly. We consulted with our
Technology Integration Specialist as well as referencing other professionals on issues with
copyright. Please consult your local media specialist or use the references below for
images/photos usage.
 Weebly offers a variety of free photos available for use through their website.
 Weebly offers a variety of professional photos available for a small fee.
 Google Images: Using the advanced setting under google images, we were able to
establish what photos were able to be “free to use” under Google.
 Free Clip Art: Another avenue to look for photos is comlpeting a Google search for
“free clip art” or “free animation.”
 Clip Art on Office Online: The Office Online offers a wide variety of photos, images,
illustrations, and sounds available for use.
 WWW.compfight.com: Another tool to investigate for photos that have free usage.
Videos
Weebly allows you to embed You Tube videos directly into your Weebly in the free version
of the website.

Let’s START “Weebly-ing”…
Through this process of creating our Weebly, we learned many steps along the way on how to
hopefully make this process easier for everyone creating one for their Peer-to-Peer program.
Signing Up & Front Loading
1. If available, create an e-mail address for your Peer-to-Peer program. The e-mail is linked
to our individual school e-mails. This allows multiple people to have the information
from peers/families.
2. Create a log-on and password with your team on the Weebly site.
3. Write down your e-mail and password in a key location.
4. Review Weebly how-to video’s. On Weebly’s website, there is a 45 minute video
tutorial that will take you step-by-step through creating a Weebly for a small business. It
is located Weebly Help Center-How to Do Everything-Live Training Videos. They also
have other specific answers to questions on the Help Center. The support staff is also
very helpful if you e-mail questions.
Your Own Site:
After creating the sign-on (write it down!!), you get the exciting next steps of designing your
own unique Weebly website.
1. Determine the site focus: site, blog or store. For the Peer-to-Peer Weebly, we selected
site. This provided us the basic foundation for our Weebly. As you layer more pages on
to the site, you can add blog or store pages.
2. Choose a Theme: This is an exciting and creative process. Review all the themes and
you can scroll over the colors to see what fits best with your program. This might be a
fun activity to do with the Peers.
 You can sort by color and style
 Or you can review all the options
3. Choose a website domain. There are three options available.
 Use a subdomain: With this feature, you pick your own address plus the domain
weebly.com
 Register a New Domain
 Connect to a domain you already own
Let’s START Building…
Next steps in the process are building your own Weebly. This is where all the creativity and
engagement takes place. There are many options open to creating and customizing the Weebly
to make it personal to your school. Below is a list of how the Clawson team created their page
and information. This can be also used as a planning tool to create and organize your own
