Affiliate Coordinator Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) Overall Position Description Manage administrative tasks related to the mission of Story County Community Foundation (SCCF) in the areas of Affiliate Funds, Grants Administration and Youth Philanthropy. Share outreach and accounting responsibilities with Executive Director while developing ability to provide backup during Executive Director’s absence. Respond to inquiries regarding SCCF. Provide office support for the Chairs of the Allocations Committee and Youth Philanthropy Program. Develop knowledge to serve as SCCF representative to fund holders, donors, potential donors, etc. via one-on-one meetings and group presentations. Board Development and Board Relations Serve as consultant on the SCCF Allocations Committee and Youth Philanthropy effort; facilitate the preparation of materials needed; work with the Executive Director to coordinate committee work and avoid overlap and gaps. Keep the Executive Director informed of activities, problems and/or progress. Staff Relations / Volunteer Coordination Support the motivation and development of volunteers. Provide orientation, training and mentoring in a stimulating, flexible, and enjoyable working environment that encourages initiative, participation, and maximum utilization of skills. Express appreciation and respect for work well done in spontaneous as well as formalized recognition. Review reports submitted by relevant Committee Chairs and call attention to possible additions or corrections. Provide office support for volunteer initiatives. Fund Development / Donor Development / Grant Management Meet with individuals or agencies interested in donating to Affiliate Funds and advise existing Affiliates on growing their SCCF funds. Oversee the applications for and use of grant funding. Ensure that grant funding is used as approved by the board. Assist the Executive Director in giving programs, writing articles, and presenting information at meetings or seminars to promote services, exchange ideas, and accomplish objectives. As requested by the Executive Director or in his/her absence, represent SCCF to various constituencies and serve as an SCCF spokesperson. Maintain awareness of community needs and interest related to SCCF goals; work with Executive Director on outreach to existing and potential funding sources; participate in meetings on community initiatives. Story County Community Foundation Page 1 Social Media Oversight Plan with the Executive Director and Outreach Committee to establish a social media presence through the SCCF web site and other social media as appropriate (i.e., Facebook, Twitter). External Relations Work with Executive Director to ensure timely, informative and honest communication with SCCF fund holders. Work with Executive Director to attract and retain donors to SCCF’s family of funds by increasing public awareness and understanding of SCCF Work with Executive director to articulate the SCCF mission to attract and retain Affiliates. With executive director, gather information pertinent to SCCF’s mission and future and share with board, fund holders and others as appropriate. PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS The Affiliate Coordinator will serve SCCF and all those associated with the organization with enthusiasm for SCCF’s mission in local philanthropy. The Affiliate Coordinator will serve SCCF with the highest standards of ethics, integrity and discretion. The Affiliate Coordinator will possess and practice excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will work well with people of diverse age and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Affiliate Coordinator will be able to adapt when changing circumstances require flexibility, will be thorough and accurate in attending to responsibilities, and will perform those responsibilities in a timely fashion with a minimum of regular supervision. The Affiliate Coordinator will possess strong organizational skills, technological skills and financial background. The Affiliate Coordinator will have the capability to develop expertise needed to provide backup during absences of the Executive Director. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Executive Director WORK SCHEDULE The Affiliate Coordinator is expected to work approximately 1,000 hours per year with a flexible schedule of approximately 20 hours per week over the entire 12-month period.
