Virtualized Networking Market
Company Appoints New VP of Marketing, Passes First Financial Audit, Expands Its
Sales Resources and Hires Industry Veteran Law Firm Pillsbury as Legal Counsel
PALO ALTO, Calif. – July 15, 2015 – Pluribus Networks, the converged infrastructure
company that advances software-defined networking (SDN) through the industry’s most
programmable, open source-based operating system, Netvisor®, today announced several
significant corporate milestones, further cementing its strong market position. These
include hiring industry veteran Mark Harris as its new VP of Corporate Marketing;
successful completion of the company’s first official financial audit by
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC); the appointment of Jorge del Calvo of Pillsbury
Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP as Pluribus’ legal counsel; and the expansion of the
company’s sales team in major U.S cities.
"We have proven our converged technology and our customers are seeing its
differentiated value immediately. Our recent round of funding has given us the ability to
onboard talent, evolve our processes and expand our sales teams to take advantage of the
growth opportunity ahead of us,” said Kumar Srikantan, President and CEO of Pluribus
Networks. “We now have everything in place. I’m highly confident that with the
combination of Mark’s skills, the expertise of Jorge del Calvo and our new sales team in
place, we will enable a growing number of forward-looking organizations looking for
modern approaches to infrastructure to meet their own business goals as well.”
Mr. Harris brings more than 25 years of experience driving data center innovation across
a variety of areas including networking, storage, compute and security. Prior to joining
Pluribus Networks, he served in a number of senior roles at Digital Equipment, Extreme
Networks, Enterasys/Cabletron, Citrix/Netscaler, Avocent/Cyclades, Server
Technologies, and most recently held the role of Vice President of Marketing and
Strategy at Nlyte Software.
“I’ve been involved in the networking industry for more than 25 years and have never
seen this level of sustained excitement by vendors and end-users alike. Converged
infrastructure and network virtualization is completely changing the fundamental rules
that we all grew up on,” said Harris. “Pluribus Networks is in a fantastic position, with a
client base of leading global companies and unique approach to infrastructure that rivals
everything else on the market. I look forward to driving the company’s marketing efforts
in order to achieve its ambitious goals.”
In addition to Harris joining Pluribus, the company announced the appointment of Jorge
del Calvo of Pillsbury as Pluribus’ legal counsel. “I am excited to be working with
Pluribus Networks, a company that is demonstrating a deep level of market
understanding and technological innovation rarely seen but always rewarded in Silicon
Valley,” said Mr. del Calvo, who represents public and private technology companies in
mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements and joint ventures,
investment banks in equity, debt and other transactions, and venture and private equity
funds in their formation and investments. He is well known throughout the technology
sector and his clients include many of the Fortune 500.
"The commercialization of great technology requires the assistance of people like Jorge
and those at PwC,” said George de Urioste, CFO at Pluribus Networks. “Most recently,
Pluribus passed its first formal financial audit, conducted by PwC. Clearing this first
financial audit represents an important milestone for the company and assures our ability
to service global customers without any commercial encumbrances.”
Finally, to meet its increasing demand, Pluribus is expanding its channel and adding
additional regional sales directors in all of the country’s primary cities. This expansion
opens up a broader range of growth opportunities demonstrating to more prospective
customers the value and benefits that Pluribus’ technology can deliver to them today.
