Pre-first Day Placement Information
This document contains useful information about each of the hospitals that students might visit during
their time on the Cardiff Medicine Programme. Students should refer to this document in the month before
they are due to attend a hospital placement, so they can be properly prepared for their first day. It includes
information about where and when to report, accommodation, transport links, parking at the hospital, any
monies required on the first day, locations and contacts, opening hours of various offices and information
about items that you might need to bring with you.
If you have queries about placements in general, please contact the Undergraduate Office in the School of
Medicine, but if you have a query about the specific hospital you will be visiting, please use the contact
information supplied in this document to speak directly to the Undergraduate Centre in the hospital.
Student should also read the useful information held in the Clinical Placements section of the Student
Handbook, where information is given about dress codes, how to behave, codes of conduct, policies
relevant to placements, student evaluation etc.
