Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT) Informational Webinar Series Currently used in more than 30 states, the Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT) Index is a program-level, benchmarked instrument that assesses a substance use agency’s ability to provide services for cooccurring substance use and mental health services. The index reviews seven dimensions—program structure; program milieu; clinical process/assessment; clinical process/treatment; continuity of care; staffing; and training. As a result of the review, programs are ranked along a continuum from Addiction Only Services to Dual Diagnosis Capable and Dual Diagnosis Enhanced. The webinar series will review the history of and research on the family of dual diagnosis capability tools and walk attendees through the DDCAT instrument. Each session will feature findings from actual reviews and explore ways in which agencies can implement no-cost or low-cost changes to enhance their capability to provide co-occurring disorder treatment.
