The company plays a supporting role in the operational readiness of the nation's nuclear deterrent on board the Vanguard class Trident Submarines and provides the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with safe, efficient and responsive support, while meeting programme and cost targets. LMUK SS, as part of the ABL Alliance with AWE and Babcock, are now responsible for the management of operations at the Royal Naval Armaments Depot Coulport (RNAD(C)). The MOD retains ownership and control of the site. Specific Job Description: Managing Director for the LMUK SS business reporting directly to the FBM Operations Director in SSC Sunnyvale. Responsible for overall operations of the LMUK SS business and as such defines policies, and implements them for the improvement of the business. Creates and drives the Strategic Direction of the business scrutinizes, assesses, and monitors all departments. Answerable to the external customers, and also the SSC Management Chain and LMUK ELT, on issues regarding performance. Responsible for Operational commitments to include: Overall Responsibility for delivering Business Level LRP commitments Orders, Sales, EBIT and Cash for LMUK SS consistent with the commitments of the SSC LRP Responsible for developing and delivering Business Strategy including opportunity management Responsible for LMUK SS HSE Performance. (Legal Entity) Transition of ABL(L) operations from legacy MOD policies, systems and procedures to LM policies, systems, and procedures including IT, HR (LMPeople, LMCommit), facilities, security, trade compliance, ESH Ensuring programme execution of existing contracts for all programmes Line manager for the heads of departments (F&BO, HSE, Programmes, Engineering and Technology Services) Workforce planning and talent management to ensure staffing and capabilities support the business Identifying future enterprise competence and resourcing requirements in line with the strategy Work within and promote the ethical standards consistent with LM Company policy Key Measures of Success: Meet or exceed all financial measures Meet or exceed all programme performance measures and meet targeted growth on existing contracts Ensure availability of suitably skilled employees and strategic employee development Successful achievement of all Operational and Strategic commitments Flawless execution on programme delivery including the growth of existing contracts. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
