About SFEI
SFEI’s mission is to use scientific understanding to protect and enhance the environment of the San Francisco Bay
and California. Our science supports environmental decision making and management across the state, informing
policy-makers, resource managers, stakeholders, scientists, and the broader public about landscape trajectories,
health, and opportunities.
About the Resilient Landscapes Program
SFEI’s Resilient Landscapes Program develops innovative ecosystem restoration and management strategies to reestablish and sustain key ecological functions and services. These strategies are helping integrate natural and
human infrastructure to create systems that are more adaptive to climate change and other stressors. We are a
team-oriented program of 12 interdisciplinary scientists, planners, and GIS specialists, who enjoy working closely
together on a range of exciting projects and work collaboratively with scientists and technologists across the
institute.
