This position oversees the credit/collection, accounts payable, product costing, inventory valuation, accounts receivable, cash management, tax analysis and reporting, risk management and pension administration functions. This position will provide direct supervision for the finance and accounting department. Essential Job Functions: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the company’s financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensure Federal, State and other tax returns/reports are completed timely and accurately. Ensure the company’s cash and investments are managed effectively to achieve investment return goals and to support the operations of the company. Monitor and administer the company’s general liability, worker compensation, and property insurance plans to ensure adequate coverage is in place to protect the company and these plans are cost competitive. Administers the company’s defined contribution plan. Administer and process executive payroll. Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of various financial analyses and government and management reports including the support of the monthly and quarterly reports for the CEO and Chairman. Provide financial analysis as requested by senior management and leadership to the Omaha Steel management team. Provide oversight and direction to ensure compliance to company policies, government regulations, and GAAP. Hire, develop, and promote associates Assist with the development and implementation of the Accounting Department short and long term plans Develop, maintain, and use standard operating procedures/work instruction for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly routines Provide associates with direction, coaching and supervision Ability to work, lead and interact with all employees within OSCC Planning and controlling the company’s financial position, cash management and banking relationships Other Job Functions Perform special projects as assigned. Organize accounting records in an effective and efficient manner.
