International
Publishers’ texts are
mostly borrowed
from the classics
around the world
undermining cultural
validity, age-levelappropriateness,
difficult to teach and
cover the difficult text
with a very difficult
exercise that cannot
be done
independently by the
student. Book and
text size is lengthy
enough that no
subject can be
covered 100% if
properly taught. Rote
learning is
encouraging by giving
short questions
requiring long
answers.
The book size is
bigger than the
teaching and learning
capacity of the
students.

DEFINED
Textbooks are
designed to provide
an opportunity for a
better, friendly, easy
and interesting
learning in the class
where the child loves
to work
independently in the
textbooks after few
weeks of guidance by
the teacher. NCE has
given independent
learning system that
encourages skillbuilding and
independence of the
student.
Teaching tools used in
all subjects makes
them very interactive
and exciting both for
the teacher and the
taught.

COMPETENCIES OF
ALL SUBJECTS
DEFINED
Learning and teaching
techniques are the
singular and sterling
quality of NCE.
Pre-book activities,
pre-concept activities,
Creativity, Language
crafts, Story-based
teaching, letterstories. Keywordtechnique, Brainstorming. Students
work while teachers
facilitate them.
Projects are made,
writing is always
creative.
Assessment
techniques are varied
both deductive and
inductive. Checklists,
sociogram, studentreports are given to
the schools to carry
out an effective
formative and
summative
assessment of the
students.
Skills are developed
for life-long support.

Teacher teaches while
the students listen
and copy their
answers from the

translations are

subjects are taught

the class.
Book is designed for
the students so that
effective learning

The titles of the
lessons carry the
theme and message
of the text.
Only tests are given to
students which they

all the students

difference of
interpretation thus
making a perfect win
for the rote-learner.
Even these tests are
not standardized
tests.
Rote-memory not
creativity is

makes the student
very dependent thus

The technique used in the writing of this document is the most effective one used
worldwide for evaluation of textbook. However, the summary given does not
encompass all the facets of the textbooks in question. These findings may be used by
the Schools’ Management as a guidance and selection tool for quality textbooks. Subject
wise details can also be given as and when desired.
