Orientation Advising and Registration Session

OARS Leaders Application

The North Idaho College (NIC) Orientation Leadership Program (OARS) has been created to enhance the student experience. OARS leaders assist with orientation and retention of new students. In addition, they act as representatives of NIC to help create a sense of community among students, employees, and visitors.

Requirements:





Be knowledgeable of NIC mission, programs, services and activities





Maintain a minimum 2.0GPA, cumulative and each semester

Attend all required meetings and training sessions



Maintain professional standards while representing North Idaho College

Be available for all OARS, Trainings, and meetings

Academic Policy

This leadership opportunity is intended to enhance your academic experience at NIC.

Your academic progress will be periodically monitored. If academic requirements are not met you may be removed from your leadership role.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Attend and lead Orientation Advising & Registration Sessions (OARS) during fall and spring semester.



Attend and assist with summer event



Assist with Registrar’s Welcome Week Activities fall and spring





Monthly meetings

Assist with projects maintained through Registrar’s Office

 Maintain communication with students through email, office hours, and attendance at

NIC events, etc.



Participate in leadership development activities

Network with faculty, students, and administration



Enhance students’ resume



Receive In-district Tuition and Fees Grant-in-Aid equivalent to 12 credit hours.
