Major Coursework in Math & Science Minor or Certificate 48 15-18 Students select and complete either (a) a university-approved 18-hr certificate or (b) a 15-18hr minor in a single course of study in a college other than Natural Sciences, Geosciences or Engineering. Courses used to satisfy the minor or certificate may not be used to satisfy the language, arts and culture requirement above. They may count toward the UT core. Clarifications: (a) Students are eligible to earn any certificate offered on campus except those that require more than 3 hours in the major field of study for their degree. (e.g., Biology majors cannot earn certificates that require more than 3 hours of BIO coursework). (b) If a certificate includes a course that is required for the major, but is not in the major field of study, we will allow 3-hours of overlap in requirements.
