Day 1 Masquerade Party Prepare to be inspired for the festivities underway! We’re hosting an evening of fun and entertainment that includes Dinner, Dancing and our themed Mardi Gras Costume Contest. It’s the perfect way to kickoff our Mardi Gras Rally. Day 2 New Orleans The “Big Easy,” a melting pot of culture, food and music, offers a festive spirit. This lively city is a perfect destination to soak up the history, scenery and vibrant jazz scene. The most iconic of the NOLA neighborhoods is the French Quarter, where you will find some of the finest eateries and boutique shops. City of the Dead Only in New Orleans, which is unique in so many ways, could cemeteries be major tourist attractions. However, because the city is built on a swamp, the deceased have to be buried above ground here in elaborate stone crypts and mausoleums. Over time the cemeteries, with elaborate sculptures and other decorative artwork embellishing the tombs, have come to come to resemble small villages. They are known by the nickname of “Cities of the Dead.” Day 3 French Quarter The most iconic of the NOLA neighborhoods is the French Quarter, where you will find some of the finest eateries and boutique shops. This is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans (aka: Vieux Carré) welcomes visitors with food, entertainment and shops. Dominated by stunning architecture these streets are adorned with intricate ironwork and decorated balconies. Day 5 Mardi Gras Music, parades and excitement characterize the traditional carnival in New Orleans held each year. This unsurpassed celebration can trace its origins to the French House of the Bourbons during medieval Europe. Bring plenty of bags to collect Mardi Gras beads thrown from floats. Day 6 WWII Museum The Museum opened in 2000, the 56th anniversary of D-Day. Here you will find a large atrium where aircraft are suspended from the ceiling. The building is several stories high and consists of two multilevel sections that are connected only by the main floor atrium. The Museum includes many displays representing the invasion of Normandy, the Allied strategy of island hopping, and the culminating attacks on Hiroshima. Day 7 New Orleans Cooking School Today’s fun is served up fresh from the kitchens of the New Orleans School of Cooking. You will be treated to an entertaining and engaging demonstration as well as enjoy a freshly prepared meal by New Orleans professional chefs. Cajun Night The descendants of Acadian exiles and peoples of other ethnicities, Cajuns (also known as AcadiansCreoles) have made an enormous impact on the state's culture with their music and cuisine. Almost one million live in Louisiana and speak their own dialect, Cajun French. Day 8 Fat Tuesday What appears to be a chaotic mass gathering becomes a fun and engaging celebration. Our group has reserved seating — a fantastic place to enjoy the parade activities without having to fight amongst the crowds of the people. Our busses bring us close to our section and we have our own private facilities nearby, which is a huge relief when you need it.
