If you wish to see a doctor or other members of the staff for treatment or advice, please telephone or call to make an appointment. It is very helpful if you give the receptionist some information about your needs so that she can allocate an appropriate amount of time for your appointment. If you need to see the doctor urgently, please explain this when you call or telephone the surgery. We keep a number of appointments free at each consultation time for sudden illness; urgent cases will be seen the same day TELEPHONE ADVICE URGENT APPOINTMENTS with within 48 hours. HOME VISITS Home visits should only be requested for those who are unable to come to the Surgery because of serious illness and infirmity. They should be requested before 10:00am if at all possible. Whenever possible we prefer to see you at the Surgery; if you do not feel well enough to sit in the waiting room we can make alternative arrangements. . All members of staff are entitled to be spoken to and to be treated in a courteous manner. Violent or abusive patients will be requested to leave the premises and register with another practice. Criminal acts will be reported to the police. All Doctors are available after 12noon to give telephone advice after their morning surgery. Patients are advised to telephone before 10:00am to arrange this. RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES OF PATIENTS PRESCRIPTIONS ROUTINE— requests for repeat prescriptions will be dealt The patient has a right to request to speak to a member of staff in private. CHAPERONES All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation. Please request this at the time of booking or speak to your GP OUT OF HOURS If you have an urgent problem when the surgery is closed. Please ring 0121 766 2100 your call will be answered by the BADGER SERVICES, who cover out of hours. Please note that when contacting them, your telephone conversation will be recorded. The patient has a right to an appointment with a member of the practice health care team. The patient has a responsibility to keep any appointment made with any member of the practice team. The patient has a duty to cancel any appointment made that they are unable to keep at the earliest opportunity – thereby allowing the appointment to be offered to someone else. HOW TO REGISTER AS A PATIENT If you are new to the area and requiring to register with one of our GP’s please ask at our Reception. If you have your Medical Card then please bring this along with you. Following your registration you will be required to have a new patient check to enable your registration to be fully complete. An appointment will be offered with our Health Care Support Worker during your registration.
