Garbage & Trash Collection Policy
PUTTING ANY TRASH OUT ON UNDESIGNATED
DAYS MAY RESULT IN FINES
A. Household Garbage 6 Collections Made Each Week
1. Collections are made Monday through Saturday. Please do not put your household
trash out on Sunday for pick up. Trash is to be placed on the edge of the pavement.
2. Trash is to be put out ONLY after 6AM. and BEFORE 9AM.
3. All trash must be in plastic bags that are strong enough to contain the contents
when picked up (maximum 40lbs). The Maintenance Department will not pick up any
loose debris. Please tie your trash bags.
4. Cardboard must be broken down before pick up.
B. Hard Trash Collection is on Mondays ONLY.
Hard trash is defined as household furniture, appliances, mattresses and bedding.
1. All hard trash must be placed at the edge of the pavement of the resident’s lot.
2. Do not put your trash on another unit’s lot, or on any other property than your own.
3. Hard Trash is to be put out only after 6 pm Sunday or before 9 am Monday.
ANY HARD TRASH THAT IS PUT OUT BEFORE SUNDAY WILL BE
SUBJECT TO FINING. HARD TRASH PICKED UP AT ANY OTHER THAN
SCHEDULED TIME WILL BE BILLED AT A MINIMUM OF $25.00 UP TO
$80.00, DEPENDING ON LOAD LANDFILL COSTS AND LABOR.
4. Bulky item collection is limited to 3 cubic yards, per week (maximum 75 lbs per load)
5. ANY BULKY ITEMS THAT EXCEED MAXIMUM WEIGHT OR THREE CUBIC
YARDS WILL BE SUBJECT TO ADDITIONAL CHARGES. A MINIMUM OF $25.00
UP TO $80.00, DEPENDING ON LOAD, LANDFILL COSTS AND LABOR.
6. No vehicle parts or hazardous wastes will be collected.
C. Yard Trash- Friday
1. Collection days is Friday FOR CHIPPING BRANCHES. (February through May may
require more frequent pick up.)
2. Yard Trash Collection is for all vegetative landscaping material and grass. 3. All Yard
Trash must be placed in plastic bags that weigh no more than 40 pounds when full and
hold no more than 32 gallons. (With Minimal Dirt)
4. Yard Trash is limited to 3 cubic yards per collection day. YARD TRASH THAT
EXCEEDS MAXIMUM WEIGHT OR CUBIC YARDS WILL BE SUBJECT TO
ADDITIONAL CHARGES. A MINIMUM OF $25.00 UP TO $80.00, DEPENDING ON
LOAD, LANDFILL COSTS AND LABOR
5. All Yard Trash will be placed on the owners lot as close to the road as possible as not
to impede traffic flow. The unit owners Yard Trash will not be placed on any other
homeowners’ lot for pick up unless that homeowner has given their permission, allowing
it to be placed on their lot for pick up.
6. Tree Trimmings are limited to those of no more than 4 Inches diameter and no longer
than 4 feet long of woody material.
7. Unit owners who remove trees larger than 4” in diameter either personally or by
contract are responsible for the removal of any debris larger than the 4” allowed.
D. Leaf Pick up
1. Leaf pick-up will be as follows:
 Tuesday for streets 700 thru 1400
 Wednesday for streets 100 thru 600
 Thursday for streets 2000 thru 2900
2. Leaves may be raked or blown into a pile that runs parallel with the roadway. Keep leaf piles
within two feet of the roadway, do not place piles of leaves in the roadway.
3. Depending on the weather and the time of year more frequent pick up may be necessary,
continue to place your leaves out for pick up on your scheduled day.
4. Leaf piles with branches, dirt, garbage or hard trash mixed in them will not be picked up.
5. Avoid driving behind or around the leaf machine while it is in operation.
E. Recycling
1. Recycling containers are located next to the maintenance yard at the west end of Sun
Blvd. for your use. Place your recycling items in the appropriate container there.
2 .Items to be recycled are newspapers, and aluminum cans only.
F. Notes:
1. To dispose of vehicle tires and batteries or household hazardous waste, call the Solid
Waste Hotline at (407) 836-6601. We do not pick up these items.
2. Holidays are New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day,
and Christmas Day.; if a collection is a Holiday there will be no collection that day. The
collection will be on the next scheduled collection day, excluding Sunday. Household
Trash May Be Taken To The Truck That Is Located Behind The Maintenance
Department.
3. A resident who places items out for collection on any day or time other than specified
above will be in violation of this policy.
4. When the amount of Hard Trash or Yard Trash exceeds 3 cubic yards, there will be a
charge of $25.00 per cubic yard, or any fraction thereof, for collection and removal.
