MSF has worked in India since 1999 and provides medical treatment to hundreds of thousands of Indian patients. MSF has worked in India since 1999, providing free-of-charge essential healthcare. We run hospitals and clinics, perform surgery, fight epidemics, operate feeding centres for malnourished children, and offer mental healthcare. Supervise the Communication Assistant and the Event Officer Purpose of Post S/he will create, plan, implement, and coordinate key components of Brand awareness campaigns and public events around India, including the development of content and communication materials. These campaigns and events are designed to raise awareness and visibility of MSF’s work and presence in India. The candidate will also develop a 3 years public events strategy and yearly action plans also in collaboration with the fundraising department. Page 1 of 4 Main Responsibilities and Tasks 1. General Activities Develop, implement and analyse online and offline brand awareness campaign’s outcomes for MSF India towards its target audience and according to approved MSF profile Create events or associate with existing external events in India with the focus on MSF’s medical humanitarian work Collaborate and coordinate with MSF Operations, Access Campaign and other MSF Branch office departments (Fundraising, HR) for developing and implementing brand awareness campaigns and events. 2. Campaign Management and production of communication materials a) Strategy and planning: Develop Brand campaign strategies and activity plans Coordinate with key stakeholders (Fundraising and HR departments, Operations, Access Campaign, etc.) the implementation, tracking, measurement and analysis of online and offline awareness campaigns, on time and within budget Brief external agencies including creative, digital, media planning and monitor deliverables against campaign brief b) Content Conceptualize a range of promotional printed and online materials including annual reports, adverts, online tools, promotional flyers, videos, photo story, etc. and supervise the production. Deliver campaign activity presentations and regular results presentations internally 3. Event management: a) Strategy and planning: Develop a 3 years public events strategy and yearly action plans identifying possible city or national events, which may benefit MSF’s mission or create in house events (In collaboration with the fundraising department) For each event (creation in house or association to external events), develop an action plan with marketing, outreach, operations and media deliverables, along with a timeline and within budget. b) Content, Marketing, Social Media, Outreach Supervise the creation of content for events: online communications tools, publications with Web Officer, Content Officer, Press Officer, as well as consultants (photographers, graphic designers, printers, translators, or suppliers), all in accordance with MSF India’s editorial, style and ethical guidelines. Ensures timely production of marketing, publicity, and presentation materials Reviews the quality of final print or electronic content before release with the Head of Communications. Creates briefings, speaker’s notes, presentations, as necessary Maps general and targeted outreach prior to events. c) Event Management Prioritizes, tracks, handles, and maintains records and budgets of projects. Page 2 of 4 Evaluates and reports on progress toward stated goals and objectives, and effectiveness of communications outreach efforts. d) Other May debrief selected returning field volunteers to familiarize them with the work of the department and the campaign and public events, in particular. 4. Quality Control and Maintenance Safeguards that all campaigns and event content messages and activities are in line with the MSF India communication and media strategies and safeguards the MSF graphic guideline and the quality of the content. 5. Management and Departmental Administration Attends regularly scheduled departmental meetings to share information, brainstorm solutions, and coordinate priorities. Participates in planning and implementation of MSF-India’s communications strategies, policies and procedures. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings, in-office presentations, and several annual office-wide debates to participate in information sharing across all departments and stay informed on important MSF topics so as to be able to contribute to the organization’s ongoing development. Supervises and sets clear attainable objectives for the Communication assistant, the Event Officer and intern/volunteers. Provides ongoing feedback in a context of mutual respect. Evaluates their job performance in accordance with established MSF procedures. Hire team members when required REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Essential - Post Graduate degree in Mass Communication/Advertising/Marketing or equivalent field from a reputed institute. Work experience: Minimum 5-6 years’ experience developing awareness campaigns and events, preferably with an INGO. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Managing multi online and offline campaigns simultaneously Advertising, digital and SEM marketing knowledge and experience Experience in conceptualizing, creating, and managing events Ability to work independently, move projects from conceptual stages to launch/implementation. Experience in creating marketing collateral and working with graphic designers, videographers, film makers, photographers and printers Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Strong interpersonal skills, creative, proactive, and flexible personality Ability to handle a large volume of work under pressure and with deadlines. Outstanding proven time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize ongoing vs. immediate needs appropriately. Willing and able to be work on irregular days and hours.
