CRITERIA FOR $500 SCHOLARSHIP

GUIDELINES
Candidate MUST:
1.
Be a 2015 graduating senior attending an accredited high school in Western Nebraska;
2. Be interested in furthering his/her education, with preference given to candidates interested in
courses of study including education,business, management, finance, marketing, sales, or
actuarial studies. Preference will also be given to candidates attending a Nebraska university,
state or community college;
3. Have an above-average GPA in high school;
4.
Demonstrate good character and leadership in school, church and community.
Candidate MUST NOT:
1.
Be the child of a NAIFA Association Member.
Selection Guidelines:
1. Candidates shall not have to show financial need;
2. Selections shall not be based on consideration of age, sex, race, creed or disability;
3. Selections shall be made by the Panhandle NE NAIFA Association. Personal interviews may be
requested.
Presentations of Scholarships:
1.
Presentations will be made at the Panhandle NE NAIFA meeting in April and recipients and
parent(s} or guardian(s} are encouraged to attend;
2. Upon NAIFA's receipt of Verification of Full-Time Enrollment from the college or university,
scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to them to be applied to the recipient's tuition and fees.
In the event that circumstances dictate disbursement of scholarship funds directly to the recipient,
recipient must show proof of matriculation at the college or university.

I am very pleased to inform you that our Panhandle NE NAIFA {National
Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors} will be awarding two $500
scholarships in 2015.
The selection will be based upon the attached criteria;and preference will be·
given to students interested in courses of study including education,business,
management,finance,marketing,sales or actuarial studies. In addition,
preference will be given to those attending a Nebraska university,state or
community college.
Whatever you can do to encourage your students to apply early will be greatly
appreciated. March 1, 2015 is the deadline date.
