Associate Professor Michael Baigent is a psychiatrist and addiction specialist. He is the

Clinical Director of the Centre for Anxiety and Related Disorders and specialist with the Drug and Alcohol Services SA. He has been an invited keynote, taught and lectured extensively & been a member of a number of national advisory expert groups in the area related to his interests in co-morbidity, high prevalence disorders and addiction. In 2006, he was invited to be the Clinical Advisor to Beyond Blue, the National Depression Initiative and has been one of the Board of Directors since 2011.

Ms Paula Redpath is the Course Coordinator for the Mental Health Sciences postgraduate programs. Paula is a Consultant Psychotherapist (AMHSW) and has worked at the Centre for Anxiety & Related Disorders, State-wide Gambling Therapy Service and in private practice for over ten years. Paula specialises in clinical supervision for allied health professionals, motivational interviewing (MI) and Behavioural Activation (BA).

Mr Angus Forbes is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine at Flinders University. He holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) and has been registered as a Psychologist in South

Australia since 1989. He has experience teaching undergraduate psychology topics, and been involved in various areas of research in Health Psychology. He joined the Mental Health

Sciences Programs in 2000, held the Course Coordinator role for almost a decade and is currently involved in topic administration, teaching, research supervision and clinical supervision. For many years Angus has held an honorary position of Senior Clinical

Psychologist within the Centre for Anxiety & Related Disorders. He has provided a range of clinical psychological services to various client groups within both private and public health sectors.

Professor Peter Harvey has a background in chronic disease management and selfmanagement research. He is currently the Director of the Flinders Centre for Gambling

Research and Manager of the Statewide Gambling Therapy Service where he is working to link masters research students (8027) into existing research projects on the impacts and outcomes of CBT based treatment for people with gambling problems.

Ms Zhila Javidi is the Team Leader and Consultant Nurse Psychotherapist at the Centre for

Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD), Flinders Medical Centre. She is also a lecturer and clinical supervisor in the Mental Health Sciences (MHSc) Postgraduate programs, Flinders

University.

Her main areas of expertise are the treatment of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

(PTSD), other anxiety disorders and depression. Zhila has a particular interest in

Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Compassion Mind Training (CMT) and is currently undertaking higher degree research titled “The Role of Resilience, Adverse

Childhood Experiences in the Treatment of Anxiety and Depressive Disorders”.

Ms Jane Oakes is a Consultant Nurse Psychotherapist at the Statewide Gambling Therapy

Service. Her area of specialty is the assessment and treatment of problem gamblers. Jane also lectures for the Mental Health Sciences Postgraduate Programs and has a particular research interest in relapse and problem gambling.

Mr Ben Riley is a cognitive behavioural therapist with the Statewide Gambling Therapy

Service at Salisbury. He has a background in mental health social work and has a Master of

Mental Health Sciences. He has a particular interest in mindfulness and acceptance based behavioural therapies.

Mr David Smith is a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry, Flinders University.

His primary role is in research design and data analysis in the Flinders Human Behaviour and Health Research Unit and Flinders Gambling Research Centre and he has an emerging publication record in the field of problem gambling research. His work with the Flinders

Gambling Research Centre is primarily on treatment-related studies including longitudinal

cohorts of problem gamblers and links with co-morbid conditions as well as clinical trials invovling psychological interventions.

Ms Julianne Watson is a lecturer in the Mental Health Sciences Program (MHSc) and therapist/clinical supervisor at the Centre for Anxiety & Related Disorders. Julianne is active in lecturing, tutoring, and supervision in the MHSc.

Dr Philip Crowley is an Addiction Medicine Specialist, and General Practitioner. He is an experienced clinician in co-morbidity. He works in private practice and has research interests in management approaches to addictions.

Dr Chris Holmwood is an experienced drug and alcohol doctor at Drug & Alcohol Services

SA (DASSA). Dr Holmwood has been involved in comorbidity guideline development and systems improvement for over 10 years. Chris supports the program through delivering lectures in the comorbidity topic.
