U14 SATELLITE ACADEMY
Dear Netball Player,
Your teacher or netball coach has nominated you for the South Durham and Cleveland Satellite
Academy Trials. The academy is a programme based on the England Netball National Performance
Pathway. More information can be found by contacting Victoria Burgess, England Netball Performance

Screening will be held at LONGFIELD ACADEMY Darlington, DL3 0HT on SEPTEMBER 20th 2015 9-00am—
2pm
All players must wear a white t-shirt and navy or black shorts or skirt. Please wear suitable footwear
(sports trainers) and ensure that nails are short and smooth (no acrylic nails). Also please bring a drink
(water or juice, no fizzy drinks) and snacks. There will be a charge of £3 per person to trial.
If you are selected for the academy, your training will be at either Hartlepool or Darlington on a Sunday
morning, a timetable will be given on selection. The programme will commence in October 2015 and
conclude in May 2016. You will be expected to fully commit to the programme which will be a total of
30 hours throughout the season and will include strength and conditioning, skill sessions, fitness testing
and satellite festivals.
If successful there is a fee of £90 for the academy. This can be paid in 2 instalments throughout the year.
It covers the cost of coaches and venues. Please note, if selected for the academy, to participate in the
programme you are required to hold an individual England Netball affiliation – this does not include
school or league affiliation.
